With tears almost filling his eyes The Genius told all us haters to enjoy it while we can.

Amid another mountain of statistical carnage and historic lows, which included the school-record 39th sack given up and the fifth loss in the last six games when wearing the supposedly lucky green jerseys, came a blast of defiance from Irish third-year head coach Charlie Weis.

"I'm going to answer that very cautiously, because I don't want to be called 'sarcastic, using New Jersey rhetoric.'" Weis said when asked if Saturday's loss felt like rock bottom. "Let me just say people better enjoy it now, have their fun now."

I will genius, I will.

Go Navy!

I don't blame him. I wouldn't want to talk about this season either. If I was him I'd answer every remaining question with a 2008 or 2009-themed answer.

I just hope this season teaches him that the NFL style of coaching only works with the guys mentally strong enough to handle it. Last year's senior class, given all the turmoil they faced at ND, was mentally strong enough, and this year's group of players most certainly aren't. Trying to install a one-week-only spread option attack against GT was nightmarishly stupid and set off a row of dominoes that resulted in what we have now.
