I was at a party last night, and when I saw the Brewers had lost, I did a little dance, high fived almost everyone there, and went for another beer.

And pointed to my Cubs hat, yelling "Cubs clinch!" most of the night.

i don't want to get picky because i'm so happy the cubbies clinched but is anybody else disappointed that the team didn't get to celebrate immediately after the last out of their own game? i understand the circumstances didn't make it possible for that to happen, but for me, one of the most exciting parts of clinching the division is seeing the guys hauling ass out of the dugout and going crazy on the field.

With you 100%.

That's why I was originally hoping they'd clinch today (I knew the Cubs game would end before the Brewers last night because of the time zone difference). At least they didn't back in by clinching despite a loss, and they were able to immediately celebrate clinching at least a tie. Now that it's happened I'm glad it worked out the way it did and we don't need to feel any anxiety about today's games.

Luckily, I was hosting a party at my apartment. Couldn't have risked going out and not having the Cubs on. But otherwise, I was pretty much like you, except I whipped out a bottle of champagne. When you have 60 people over, that doesn't last long, unfortunately.

Ha. Unfortunately for me, many of the people there didn't care about the Cubs much because they were all busy celebrating the Phillies being in 1st place.

That's why you should've gone to a Big Ten school in closer proximity to Chicago, my friend.

Honestly though, I'm pretty pumped about the Phillies too. I despise the Mets, their fans, their stadium, and their stupid mascot. Yankees fans are infinitely more tolerable than their Queens counterparts.

Time to start planning the parties in Chicago.

Hey, just letting everyone know there is a Cubs special listed on my guide that is supposed to air right after the game today. It's listed as a recap of the 2005 season, but I'm pretty sure that's just a misprint :D

I am begging someone to record this for me. I'll be at work.

Checking in from Madison, WI....

At one of the top Sports Bars on a college town, State Street Brats, there was a good 40 or so Cubs fans that came out to watch the game (b/c not on WGN). Tons of cheering for the Cubs, tons of cheering for good 'ol Greg Maddux, great times.

I've been back here for about a month now, and it's been amazing to see the immediate lack of Brewers gear people are wearing. In late August/early September, everyone was wearing Brewer hats, shirts, etc... Now, nowhere. It's awesome.

And, luckily for us, one of the bartenders was a Cubs fan too. $1 Patron shots anyone?

Anyways, it's been great this past month. Wisconsin is slowly turning back into Wrigley North, and the Cubs fans have driven back the bandwagon Brewer fans, obvious with their recently purchased Brewer clothing.

Let's. Go. Cubs.
