I don't have the overall stats, but I know one team who in 1984 came back to win a five game series after being down 0-2. Ah yes, sadly the Cubs can't play against themselves But they can play WITH themselves.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, you aren't the only one. I leave tomorrow at 10:30 for Chicago, although I'm not going to any games. I'll be at a weekend Bear/Packer/playoff party at a lake house in Twin Lakes, WI. There'll be a couple of big-time Cardinal fans there (one I have known for 35 years) that will be gloating to no end. Maybe I'll just miss my flight.

Good nite. That's enough for me. When this team left for Florida last week they were basking in glory after sweeping a lifeless Pirate team. Then they laid an egg in Miami & lucked out when the Brewers caved in for a few nights. If they think everything is fine & daddy with the fans at home because they made the playoffs, they will be in for a rude awakening this weekend. It's looking like a sweep & the natives will definitely be restless.

Juan & Augie. Not to mention Joe Bo tearing it up for the Tribe. We are definitely cursed. Yeah, Jo Bo is tearing it up. Have you actually looked at this stats? OK. He has a high ERA pitching in the AL. And 45 saves. Just like the D-Backs give up more runs than they score. So where are they & where are we?

This is actually the worst day of my life not involving death/deadly illness Game 7. 2003. Game 5, 1984. I thought game 6 was way worse. Nothing will ever top Game 6. EVER. That was pure evil. Game 6 was crappy. But Game 7 on principle alone is much more. Culmination of the collapse. Besides, I really thought that the Kerry Wood 3 run shot would be the shot in the arm to win that series. And to have Bako at the plate to end the series made it that much more shitty. I cried that night, that's how [expletive] Game 7 was. I was at game 6. Never saw an entire ballpark gasp until Gonzalez blew that double play. Nice WTP. We can't buy a break, folks.
