Looks like every other team is doing a random drawing system. I wonder why the Cubs are doing it this way.

So their scalpers still get all the tickets that they'd normally get. Gotta make the Cubs money.

?? It says on Cubs.com that the virtual waiting room will open at 8:30 and at 9 they will randomly select people.

I'm trying to decide if I should buy San Diego or Arizona tickets. I wish one of them would just run away with it now.

Now the east teams are getting into it also.

I'm buying SD and will have to sell them if the Padres play the Mets or some nonsense like that.

I can't go to Phoenix so there's no point in even trying.

I could see how that would confuse people. What I meant was that all other teams are doing a thing where you have to register to be able to purchase tickets, and you're then notified via email if you've been selected.

I'll be trying online and over the phone tomorrow morning. I'm not too optimistic. I'm also not going to pay through the nose for playoff tickets. Probably just go to a Wrigleyville bar to watch the games.

I'd much rather pay someone on here a little over face value than anyone else a lot over .
Why would anyone do that?

Why would anyone sell them to you at a discount to the market price? So you can resell them? Don't think so.

I picked mine up at Fedex today. Want to talk about price?

Argh, I didn't win the random drawing for Padre tickets. Gonna have to use other means to get the tickets if the Cubs somehow play the Pads.

I'm getting up and trying to nab the 4 best available seats I can. Another buddy is getting up and trying to get whatever he can get his hands on. If all goes well, he sells his tickets on stubhub, and we split the cash and get paid to sit in some nice seats.

If we don't end up getting picked in the VWR, are we pretty much screwed? Meaning, do we still have a chance to see the games without paying 4 or 5 times face value? Does anyone have any backup plans?

I'm thinking of just going to Chicago for the weekend. I won't be up at 6 a.m. so getting tickets isn't really an option. If others that live in Chicago or would be going to Chicago for that weekend but didn't have tickets were down to hang out at a bar or something, I'd definitely be in for that as well.

What is the direct link that jon posted used for?

click on it at 8:30 and it will take you directly to a VWR.

It looks like the scheduled gametimes for October 6th are 4:30 and 8. The times are 11, 2:30, and 6 on October 7th if needed.

If they lock out Control+N, which they should do, just paste it in as many windows as you want.

Anyone else having problems getting the VWR in more than one window? I've tried it in Internet Explorer and Firefox to no avail. Do I need to delete my cookies or something to get it to work?

You have to open blank windows first and then paste the url into each one: http://frontline.purchasenow3.tickets.com/buy/MLBEventInfo?orgid=21477&trxstate=8&pid=6095230&roomid=5
