Lets put on our rally caps.

C'mon boys.

what?

he's a card fan.

So that allows him to outwardly cheer for the Cards in a Cubs game thread?

Uhm...seriously?

As long as Frank Gore rushes for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns tonight, you are allowed to cheer for the Cards. 8-)

Let me try this out.

I am soap dropping upset that we haven't yet found Bin Laden.

I think I like that phrase. I will use it. Thanks.

Did I just see Soriano work a walk on 10 pitches? Is my beer spiked with LSD and I'm seeing things???

Yes and Yes.

I was wondering why he had on a big ole pink Panda head. That just don't make no sense man!

It doesn't make sense for him to come here, but it's not like he's trolling. No big deal, guys.

I came here for a Cub-Cards game a few years ago and it was a blast in here. I come here for those rivalry games every one in a while. The game threads here are a lot more active than the GWB ones.

So; its getting dark at wrigley, they need to finish this inning and get through the top half of the fifth.

fast.

With the scheduling issues, I have a strong feeling that as long as there are 45 more minutes of no rain between now and 1am CDT, they'll get thru the fifth inning of this game.

what would happen if the cards just started intentionally walking everyone until the rain began? that'd be extremely unethical, but are there rules against that?

can't imagine there are. no "unsportsmanlike conduct" penalties in baseball

do the cardinals have any games left wit the Brewers?

Three. It's within the last ten games of the season.

Yep, the Crew has them, San Diego, and the Mets to finish it out.

No rules against it, but the Cubs could just take the walks until they got a safe lead, and then swing at every pitch even if it was 5 feet outside in order to strike out and end the inning.

Regardless of activity pace, I could never imagine going to a WSox or Cardinals thread for a game, so I'll never wrap my head around it, but as a biased member, I can see this board being more enjoyable 8-)

Agreed...now talking smack if it were the other way around might be a different story.

The thing is, those guys didn't really have to worry too much earlier in the year, and things went well. Then as the race tightened and the calender turned, Hendry, Lou and Larry start talking about that short leash and the kids have a couple bad games. Hill pitches poorly, and Lou says as much, Trax pitches poorly, and Lou talks about good stuff just missing location. Soto hits and fields, Kendall makes outs left and right and can't throw anybody out, and he's the stable presence they need. Some excuse it because everybody else in the game acts the same way, but that's no excuse for poor decision making.
