do the cardinals have any games left wit the Brewers?

Three. It's within the last ten games of the season.

Yep, the Crew has them, San Diego, and the Mets to finish it out.
That's why I think the Cubs will pull this thing out. SD and even perhaps NYM will be playing meaningful games. And both should school the Brewers.

what would happen if the cards just started intentionally walking everyone until the rain began? that'd be extremely unethical, but are there rules against that?

No rules against it, but the Cubs could just take the walks until they got a safe lead, and then swing at every pitch even if it was 5 feet outside in order to strike out and end the inning.

and then the cardinals miss the 3rd strike on purpose so it goes to the backstop. Then the Cubs' batter doesn't run to first base, and Molina doesn't go back to retrieve the ball. It'd be hilarious.

Coming into the offseason I thought Lilly was a bad signing. I didn't see what the fuss was about. I thought he was just a junk-ball lefty.

He actually has pretty good stuff, though, and really good control.

The A.L. East is a tough division.

It's like the South Park episode, when they are tired of playing baseball so they try to lose on purpose.

The VP of my company came out a few minutes ago and just clapped obnoxiously until he got a reaction from the Cards fan. I enjoyed it what can I say.

After having been displaced for the last eight years, I have well-learned that if this Cards fan you work with hasn't learned better than to speak up amongst Cubs fans, any hometown trolling directed his way is more than deserved.

Or the hockey episode where the tykes cannot skate and every game ends up in a tie until they have to play the Avalanche.
