I doubt Michigan will be ranked yet, but they'll probably get some votes. I don't think beating a winless Notre Dame team is enough to overcome two stinkers, regardless of how much the margin of victory is. It's a step in the road back though.

Kentucky's definitely in the Top 25 next week, no question about it. An undefeated season to date with a win over a Top 10 team makes it a complete no-brainer. If the voters don't want to drop anyone other than Tennessee out they can always rank 26 teams by creating a tie for #25.

Dont be surprised if Michigan is back in the top 25. Also I expect Alabama and Kentucky to be ranked next week. Both deserve it. Tennessee is definitely out. Two lackluster performances, granted against top ten teams but still.

Tennessee definitely will and should drop out. The losses did both come to top 10 teams, but we rolled over for both. Our performance alone doesn't warrant top 25 consideration.

I'm surprised Andy hasn't chimed in on this yet, but Ball State beat Navy in an amazing game. I was able to watch it on CSTV. Ball State led 21-7 at one point, but Navy came back and took the lead. BSU then tied it, and blocked a Navy field goal attempt at the end of regulation to protect the tie and send the game into OT. Navy got the ball at the start of OT, but BSU recovered a fumble on the very first play, then a few plays later kicked a field goal to win 34-31.

My three favorite college teams are Ball State, Indiana, and Kentucky, and they could all be bowl bound this year.

i said kentucky was underrated this year and they showed that tonight. Rich Brooks has that team going in the right direction, no doubt about it. I knew they wouldn't get much press coming into the 2007 because they're kentucky football and they've sucked for a long time. But they remind me of Wake Forest last year - a senior-laden team with some good talent. I'm not saying they'll win the SEC -- Florida and LSU are just too strong -- but UK may finish 8-4. They have a pretty brutal schedule the rest of the way out though - LSU, Florida, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.

I'm terrified of Kentucky right now. I have little doubt we'll be able to move the football on their weak defense, but I haven't seen anything from our defense to make me think we can make them punt once.

Couple that with probable losses to Arkansas (no way we stop McFadden) and Alabama (John Parker Wilson will have fun since we don't seem to field a defense) and Fulmer's job could very well be in trouble.

Nebraska should be dropped from the top 25 when the polls comes out.

in that case UCLA should be taken out of D1.

Please do.

:x

(At least take Dorrell away.)

No way in hell a 3-0 SEC team with a win over a top 10 team won't be in the top 25. Hell, South Carolina jumped up to SEVENTEEN by beating Georgia.

besides Tennessee, who do you bump to get both Alabama and Kentucky into the top 25? Clemson won their game fairly easily. BC is about to beat a higher ranked team. Hawaii will probably rack it up against UNLV. Oregon and A&M rolled. does GT get dropped down farther than Arkansas for some reason.

the sense of entitlement is sickening. like I said, if it happens it will be an absolute joke. South Carolina has no business in the top 25 in the first place.

UCLA should get dropped from the Top 25.

Just got back NC - went to see a movie right after the BSU game then hung out with a friend.

AMAZING ball game. Each team had well over 500 yards of offense, but Ball State only turned it over once, whereas Navy turned it over twice (once on the first play of OT!), plus two blocked FGs by the Cardinals. On the last play of regulation - I can't even describe how awesome it was, after thinking we were screwed when Navy set up for a 24-yarder.

It was, unbelievably, Brady Hoke's first OOC win against a I-A team. Now, with three should-be-gimmes left on the schedule (Buffalo, Toledo and NIU), the Cards just need to win two of CMU, Western Kentucky, @WMU, @Illinois, and @IU to most likely go to a bowl game.

After that Miami stinker, I couldn't have hoped that BSU could have played better than they have the past two weeks.

Let me just say

HAHAHAHA!! The Big 10 is HORRIBLE!! There is no doubt in my mind that it's the worst of the BCS conferences.

Wisconsin tied with The Citadel at half.

Minnesota losing to FAU

Iowa losing to ISU

Northwestern losing to Duke.

The Big 10 is garbage and there's no other way to say it.

And I'll go ahead and predict it: Michigan will beat Penn State next week which will make the conference lose even more credibility.

Holy crap Illini....where did this come from?

They've always had a great rushing attack, its just now that they aren't turning the ball over every other down, they are able to put some points on the board.

Heres hoping they can upset one of Wisconsin, Penn State or Michigan.

That would be beautiful.

I wouldn't call them the worst conference, which team in the ACC is really any better than Wisconsin/Ohio State/Penn State, hell even though Michigan really let things get past them the two weeks, there is no team in the ACC or even the Big East that I would pick above those 4 teams. (I'm looking at you West Virginia, prove you can play some defense and throw the ball)

And don't get me started on the Big 12 North, hell even the Big 12 South is unimpressive except for Oklahoma, Texas by all rights SHOULD have lost against UCF.

I think we are just seeing a lot more parity in D1A, and that makes the Big 10 look a bit worse because they are in a bit of a down year. But make no mistake, there are some very quality programs in that conference.

I would take WVU over anyone in the Big 10 and would probably take Louisville as well (hello passing offense). Rutgers could also probably beat anyone in the Big 10 on any given night also.

As for the Big 12, Oklahoma is the only reason that conference is better than the Big 10.

The ACC is probably on par with the Big 10. For some reason, I always forget about them. Even when I say 'BCS conferences', I seem to forget about the ACC. Actually I'll take that back, the Big 10 is better than the ACC. I was thinking about making an argument for Clemson and BC but I couldn't.

As for your final paragraph, I was thinking about that the other day and I agree, there seems to be more parity this year. There just seem to be a lot more good teams that can beat the top teams on any given day. There also seem to be a lot more teams that aren't traditionally good who are getting better.

Holy crap Illini....where did this come from?

I got some bad news for you. Lou Holtz predicted they would surprise in the Big Ten this year.. Looks like a 1-7 conference record for sure now.

Good wins by Kentucky (congrats Ping!), Ohio St, USC, LSU (dominating D), Michigan St, OK (Still playing well on both sides of the ball) and Florida. I still would like to see a SEC team play a good team away from home, and win.

Surprised that UConn struggled against Temple not surprised that Texas struggled against a good UCF team.

You can't spell sucks without SU, congrats on beating a 1AA team Illinois. Never have I had an SU team so untalented and poorly coached.

ND, hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

How long until the genuis gets a win this year?

Right now, I'm hoping that ND keeps the winning streak over Navy going. They'll be heavy underdogs in their next 5 games.

I certainly wouldn't. This coming weekend's Indiana-Illinois matchup is the biggest in recent memory. I really think the winner will be the surprise team of the Big 10 -- not that either will win the conference, of course. I think the winner could use the game to catapult itself into a surprising 5-3 or so finish. Not that either team is great, but the Big 10 is down. (However, Indiana is probably better position to surprise, as the Illini have a tougher conference schedule)

I'm an IU fan, but I think Illinois wins this game. They have more talent and had IU down last year and should've won. Plus, with Lynch coaching instead of Hep, Illinois likely has an advantage there, too.

How long until the genuis gets a win this year?

0-8 going into Navy.

I've been following football for 15 years and have seen some real stinkbomb offensive lines, but ND 2007 takes the cake. Every single play (that I watched - I gave up 20 minutes in), there were three guys in the backfield. And Michigan's defense isn't even good.

I really believe Charlie is doing everything he can, but when your entire starting lineup is freshmen and sophomores, everyone in the media is piling on you week in and week out, all the fans are sick of you, and on top of that you're getting your butts whipped, there's not much anyone can do.

Even my borderline-ruthless taunting roommate recognized how scarring this season is going to be and didn't snipe at ND once yesterday. Which is good because if he had he'd probably be in a coma at the moment.

Maybe Charlie needs some extra camera's to give the team a little boost at halftime? :D

You're team is struggling while having a lot of 4 or 5 star freshman/sophs while Syracuse is doing so with 2 to 3 star recruits. Your offensive line is not doing well to say the least and that surprises me giving Charlie's expertise in that area.
