So far this year against the Dodgers the Cubs have:

- scored 7 runs in the top of the 7th inning to take an 8-5 lead only to allow four runs in the bottom of the 8th to lose 9-8.

- have Scott Eyre give up a HR in the bottom of the eight to tie the game at 1. Then in the 11th, Guzman walks two hitters, Marmol intentionally walks another after one of the hitters steals third, and then he hits Pierre to end the game all with no outs.

-this game.

can someone tell me why Kendall is catching still? If blanco or soto are behind the plate, there's a less likely chance that furcal steals 2nd...

Can someone tell me why a couple of skid marks like James Loney and Andrew Ethier can hit, but this $100 million team can't???

I would hardly consider Loney and Ethier to be "skid marks".

they are compared to the guys the Cubs have.

No they aren't. Especially Loney. Just because they're young and you don't know who they are, doesn't mean they aren't good. It just means you should pay more attention.

Meanwhile, our youngsters either can't hit, can't show up for the games on time, or if they can hit, languish on the bench behind a guy who can't hit and can't throw anyone out.

And that has nothing to do with you calling Loney a "skid mark" when he clearly isn't.

Dempster should not have been booed. He's been fantastic most of this year.

I disagree. Most of the players on this team should be boo'ed constantly, and even the good ones should be boo'ed when they screw up.

He's done a fine job, but he just blew a big game in an embarrassing way.

BOOOOOOO!!!

What an excellent inning.

This one, the mets one in shea, the philadelphia one after we had taken the lead, or the one in Atlanta? Which one is our low point?

Yeah, you're right. I'd sure choose him over Derrek Lee.

He's fantastic.

sound the MELTDOWN alarm.

A loss like this either wakes up the team, or is the start of a long downward spiral.

@ Pirates, 1 game in Chicago vs. Cardinals, @ Houston, @ STL = downward spiral

Yeah, real embarrassing to give up a single, a ball Lee probably should've had for a force out, and a wind-aided homer.

Give me a break.

I took the booing more as being pissed off that the game just went from a win to a loss than showing anything more than very temporary frustration with Demp.

Not really...We haven't had a heartbreaker for a while now. We'll get'em in Pitt..

Yea, that makes a lot of sense. Particularly in a game where even the greatest players fail 3/5 of the time.

Even the best pitchers are going to give up runs sometimes. His overall performance this year doesn't justify booing.
