What a crappy day. I just wanted one thing to go right (that would be the Cubs), and it didn't.

We were over-due for a loss like this. It happens!

Can someone tell me why a couple of skid marks like James Loney and Andrew Ethier can hit, but this $100 million team can't???

I would hardly consider Loney and Ethier to be "skid marks".

I wish we could call them our skid marks. Give me Kemp too.

If they were on this team they'd all be somewhere around the Mendoza line.

they are compared to the guys the Cubs have.

No they aren't. Especially Loney. Just because they're young and you don't know who they are, doesn't mean they aren't good. It just means you should pay more attention.

Cardinal fans erupt in cheers after the score was shown that the Dodgers took the 6-4 lead.

Makes me sick.

Earlier they made fun of a heavy set gentleman in cubs gear. They are a classy organization no doubt about it.

I wonder if they declare the season over when their stopper blows a 1 run lead.

Also, Ramirez should never have been used so early, and Lou's gonna regret it.

I think Lou did the right thing regarding Ramirez. It's up to the rest of the team to step up and close the deal.

If Dempster can pitch the 8th or 7th, Marmol should become the closer or at least get a shot.

Yeah, until he blows a save. Then let's go back to Dempster.

Marmol rarely gives up hits in his innings, Demp gets into jams every 2 or 3 save ops.

Part of Demps problem is he doesn't have a big put away pitch. Hence all the hits on 0-2 counts. Marmol does not have that problem.

I have to put a little blame on Lou for this as well....there was no need to pitch Demps last night.

I don't think fatigue is a factor.

Even if the Cards lose...we still lose our sole posession of first.

Yippee.....too bad we should have a four game lead right now.

haha that's being generous

by the way, after the game watch Demp be a class act and blame himself for the loss. I hope Z watches.

dempster and marmol's whip are pretty similar. so, no.

Enough with the overreactions, Dempster has pitched great. He got the desired result on the 2nd batter, it was a matter of inches from being a double play ball.

Then he gave up a fly ball that doesn't get out unless the wind is howling out.

It happens, but he hasn't pitched terribly.

Its amazing it doesnt happen for us huh.

That has nothing to do with the fact that Demp didn't pitch poorly.

I have seen this movie many times over the past 37 years. I hope your right, but I will side with history on this one.

Funny you never said a word about using Aram when they did as it happened.

Meanwhile, our youngsters either can't hit, can't show up for the games on time, or if they can hit, languish on the bench behind a guy who can't hit and can't throw anyone out.

Wait do they have a history of winning titles or are they the ones who haven't won in 98 years?

I said Lou should save him for the 9th...

That's why you want Marmol coming in in actual pressure situations (i.e. with the team tied or losing, with runners on, etc.), and not for an easy 9th with the bases empty. Today's game aside, closing is overrated. You want your best relievers doing what Marmol does.

Do you want Demp coming in to pitch in a jam in the 7th or 8th??

His splitter is definitely a put away pitch.
