I'll give you a reason to hate everyone of these guys:

Pujols: always kills the Cubs

Edmonds: plays way out of position to make overrated grabs

Ankiel: spark to Cards turnaround this season, just overall obnoxiousness

Duncan: came out of nowhere, one of the MIL/STL gold prospects

Encarnacion: the Kevin Mench of the the dirtbirds

Taguchi: who?

Eckstein: GRITGRITGRIT

Miles: see Eckstein, Tony Womack syndrome

Ryan: see Duncan

Molina: 75 times better than Kendall at throwing guys out, probably a better hitter too

Bennett: pwned the Cubs last year

Looper: Cy Looper

Isringhausen: Just seems like he's been a Cardinal forever and should suck, but doesn't

Reyes: flat brim

Wells: sucks, but is Cy Wells now

Jim Edmonds. Boy do I hate that guy.

Pujols is awesome, no hate there. Good for a laugh now and again, but other than that, I don't really have any ill-will towards him.

and, Ankiel, not even close? Ankiel's story is pretty amazing and all but I don't think it's the reason the Cards have improved. If they win the division, it will be solely because the Cubs couldn't get it done, not because Ankiel came up and hit for power. He's contributed, certainly. But he's not the reason.

Edit: I was [this] close to choosing Braden Looper simply because I hate looking at his ugly mug.

Pujols just kills everybody. The Cubs have actually been one of the better teams at stopping him. They have the best results in the NL Central against him, and are 3rd best in the NL against him.

I agree with most of the rest of your list.

I'd have to go with Edmonds, especially after that confrontation with Z a couple of years ago.

I was the first vote for Looper. It was close for me between him and Wells, primarily because neither have been any good until they hit the Cards. Looper especially has been career long reliever and now all of a sudden can easily go 6-7 strong innings. Bah.

And, if Looper and Wells are 1a and 1b, Edmonds is a very, very close 2 on my list.

This vote was far tougher than which Brewer we hate the most.

Kip Wells has been terrible this year, how could any Cub fan hate him?

Looper is understandable since he had zero career ML (professional?) starts and suddenly turned into a serviceable back of the rotation guy, but I personally am a big fan of Wells and hope he is a Cardinal for a long time.

He's pitched very well against us, I believe. That fuels much of my hatred.

he's only had one start against us and he was pretty mediocre. 3 R (2 earned) in 6.2 IP isn't amazing. and he's lost a lot of games for them.

we should've done more against him that one start though. 8 H and 3 BB. story of the season i guess.
