Cowboys sign Ola Dagunduro/DT/Nebraska, Mike Jefferson/WR/Montana, Steve Rissler/C/Florida, Robert Turner/OL/New Mexico, Jerard Rabb/WR/Boise State, Jackie Battle/RB/Houston, Matt Moore/QB/Oregon State.

Does anyone know about any of these?

I saw Moore in the Sun Bowl, and he seemed competent. Didn't really get a chance to show off much arm strength, and he had the presence of mind to repeatedly dump off to running backs on the game winning drive(although I think they were trying to that after about 5 times). Don't know how well he'll project in the NFL though.

Good arm, awful accuracy, not the brightest bulb around - his previous 3 seasons had been brutal. Questionable teammate, fought a lot with Karl Dorrell because Drew Olson got to start over him.

Huh, I missed it but Chinedum Ndukwe got picked by Cincy with one of the last picks. Pleasant surprise - I think Nedu has enough talent to surprise some people and get some PT.

Would never have guessed that 7 Irish would be picked and no Walker or McKnight.

Leak to the Bears: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/palmbeach/ufblog/entries/2007/04/29/chris_leak_to_chicago_bears.html

SIU running back Arkee Whitlock was signed by the Vikings. Now this time, i really do want to puke.

Well liked college players going to teams that you don't like! Oh no! I'm sorry they don't do what you like, sir.

Take a step back and relax. It was mainly a joke.

I'm happy for him that he got signed to a deal and that he's going to be doing what he wants to do, even if it's only on the practice squad, for the next 4 years.

Per UND.com, the Bears signed Darius Walker and Chris Frome. I had an inkling Chicago might be interested in Walker. Good luck to him.

Don't get too excited, with the rising cost of tackling dummies, the Bears have begun to sign NCAA washouts to take their place.

So is Walker going to team up with somebody to be a tackling dummy, or are they just going to use him as a cone?

Double-duty.

The Bears are really on the forefront of the NFL's new cost-cutting measures.

The Cowboys really jumped out fast, so far we've agreed to terms with Ola Dagunduro/DT/Nebraska, Mike Jefferson/WR/Montana, Steve Rissler/C/Florida, Robert Turner/OL/New Mexico, Jerard Rabb/WR/Boise State, Jackie Battle/RB/Houston and Matt Moore QB Oregon State

EDIT: I just found out that they signed Alonzo Coleman RB Hampton as well. Former basketball player and 6'8" TE Rodney Hannah has signed with the Boys also.

It just underscores what Quinn had to work with, i.e. very little.

Yeah, a 1,000 yard rusher at running back, one receiver with over 1,000 yards and one with over 900. It was really Quinn and a bunch of scrubs back there. Just because they aren't pro prospects doesn't mean they weren't great college football players.

Rhema Mcknight was a drop machine, and any RB on that roster could have gained 1000 yards. THe only weapon was Jeff S.

If their drop machine WR came just over 90 yards short of 1,000 and "any" runningback could have gone over 1,000 yards, doesn't that sort of dispel the notion of having "nothing to work with"?

No, it doesn't. For fairness, I want to add John Carlson-other then one bad play in the Michigan game, he was very good all season.

Darius Walker had over 1,000 yards-that was entirely because of the passing offense. He's a guy who can get some yards if everybody is spread out enough-when ND needed to run, he struggled. I wasn't even sorry he left-with Quinn and everyone else leaving, Walker would have been awful next year, and probably would have lost his job to his backup.

Rhema Mcknight was the quintessential good one play, horrible the next. He got his yards because ND threw deep a ton in order to try to make up points. His statistics are very deceiving-for example, the USC game. Mcknight had 6 catches, 109 yards and a TD. It sounds great-but I can tell you that Mcknight dropped 4 easy catches that cost his team the chance to keep up with USC's offense, and he was the goat. Every receiver is going to catch some balls given enough chances and accurate throws.

The only things that could be counted upon last season were Quinn, Samardzija, and Carlson. The line, the rest of the receivers, and the runningbacks were all either incredibly inconsistent or simply horrible.

Looks like Cleveland nearly had something with GB for Quinn, but they shot Cleveland down:

Savage got a nibble from Green Bay at 16. Cleveland offered its first-round pick in 2008, and offered to flip picks with the Packers in rounds two, three and four. "I thought it was going to work,'' Savage said. "But they thought about it, called back and said no.''

Furthering the case that Ted Thompson is truly an idiot.
