Dammit Miami, take Jackson if you're going to take a DE

Jackson? I hope you don't mean Keith...

Xzavie (from Mizzou, I'm hoping he gets picked).

Ah, gotcha.

Woo, Keith Jackson finally went.

Brant:

Good size ... Played RT in 2006, but could also project to guard ... Caught one pass for one yard in 2005 ... Dominating blocker ... Ranked by some sites as a mid-round prospect ... Strong ... Entered the 2006 season with 34 consecutive starts ... Two-time all-Big XII honorable mention ... Preseason second team all-Big XII

Pro Day Results

40yd dash - 5.31 / 5.35 ... Vertical - 29.5 ... Long jump - 9'1" ... Short shuttle - 4.96 ... 3 cone - 7.87 ... Bench press - 20

I like this pick. He's a big, big man.

A little more...he can play G and T and will likely play G in the NFL:

Aaron Brant Draft Profile

A smart, knowledgeable player with good defense recognition, Brant can find himself unable to physically do what, mentally, he recognizes needs to be done. A good sized lineman, he can stand up to the power rush, but lacks the lateral ability to match speed and cutbacks. Experienced at both guard and tackle, his footwork and mobility may require him to play inside with help on either shoulder.

Damn, I was hoping Xzavie would go to Jacksonville so he could play with his teammate Brian Smith. He probably won't get picked now, but I hope someone gives him a non-drafted FA contract or a tryout, because he's a great pass rusher, a hell of a hard worker and he's very coachable.

I feel really bad for Darius. He left ND early because this year was as weak as the RB class was going to be and he had no chance of moving his stock up any more. Little did he know he would go undrafted anyway.

Looks like he made a bad career move. That and he's not an NFL-caliber back.

I guess not, though I really thought the first half of the Sugar Bowl would've changed some minds there.

He's not big enough and doesn't have NFL caliber speed for a half-back. He blocks ok and can catch, but since most teams don't go with a 2-back set, those skils aren't utilized as much in the pro game anymore. To make it as a RB in the NFL, you either need the size to be a bruiser or the speed to be a change of pace back. Ideally, the great backs have both. Walker lacks the speed or the size, so his abilty to block or catch is greatly minimized.

I'm sure he'll get signed, but then likely is cut in training camp and either chooses another career or plays in the CFL or AFL.

I think the Tanard Jackson pick is a good one. He should excel in the cover-2 scheme.

Agreed about Jackson. Great value pick for the Bucs. I know absolutely nothing about the other guys, though.

There needs to be a resource other than a player's family and his agent to tell some of these guys the truth. Darius should have stayed to get his degree. I hope he can still go back and finish up.

I probably missed some, but those are names I can recall that I didn't see get draft.

Much appreciated guys, thanks. Looks like they went all out to infuse the (aging) defense with some talent and speed.

I really like Darby, he had a real down year last year but is still a nice talent and could easily rebound.
