Also, anyone get the feeling Boise let them score right away? Kind of saying, our offense is so hot, lets get them on the field right away.

No, that'd be ridiculous. If that were the case, you'd go on offense first.

I do think they chose to go on Defense first knowing that if Oklahoma scored first that obviously they would kick the extra point. Then if they scored the touchdown it was pre planned that they were going for 2. But you would never actually just let them score.

Not if you were planning on going for 2. But yeah, they definitely didn't let them score.

I agree. If Boise St. offense was so "hot" then why did it take 4th down to finally get into the endzone?

But I am happy for Boise State, and they now should have the respect from the BCS and fans or these major conferences.

Man, that University of Phoenix stadium must have some sort of charm.

First, Bears/Cardinals. Then, this. Hopefully Florida/Ohio State is just as exciting!

I dunno everything else that Boise did in that game was crazy, and what better way to get Oklahoma overconfident then to let them score right away. It just looked so easy.

I don't think it's likely, but what if...

thats the stupidest thing i ever heard in my life

i want to die right now, what a hell of a game.

What an exciting game. It's too bad a playoff is out of the cards because these games would have made for a very memorable December Maddness. What does hurt the push for a playoff is that Michigan got crushed by USC. That gets rid of one of the squeaky wheels and only if Florida beats Ohio State will we have any controversy.

Well, how do you defend against a team who hires a 4th grader to draw up plays from the playground?

Exactly, as I was saying last night, no disrespect to Boise State, but sandbox football isn't exactly going to win the respect of the nation. Beyond the two big trick plays, pretty much every play they ran in OT was unconventional.

If Boise State were to play Oklahoma today again, I would bet that a lot of those trick plays would be stomped.

Still, amazing amazing football game. That kinda stuff only happens once in a million years.

I don't know about that. OK had 12 games of film on Boise State that was filled with trick plays to watch, and they still got beat by a hook and ladder, an option pass, and a statue of liberty. None of those trick plays are exactly new.

All I can say about that game was WOW!

What I didn't understand was if they were going to go for 2 when they did, why didn't they go for it before overtime began?

Great game regardless.

Getting back to the USC game, I forgot the USC receiver's name (Jarret?), but he's clearly not ready for NFL. He obviously failed a few classes in respect, integrity and class. As he has none. He's the next TO. Way to show your ass out there today, jerk.

Not to mention that until about 4 mins left in the 3rd quarter, Boise State was up 28-10 and hadn't run hardly any trick plays at all. They only used the trick plays once the defense was exhausted.

Can you imagine if some of those games were playoff games?

EDIT: Of course they wouldn't have been, as a playoff would have had:

OSU vs. BSU

UF vs. UWisc

UM vs. UL

USC vs. LSU

Oh well, I say stupid things sometimes.

It would be an incredibly gutsy move, but I could almost kinda sorta maybe once in a million years see it happening.

I hate sideline reporters.

Why would you ask the Boise St. QB "Do you think you deserve a shot at Ohio State?" What's the point? It's not like they are going to get a shot, or that anyone besides Florida is going to get a shot, so this questions is meaningless and does nothing but aggravate the BCS situation (which is fine with me, but not the network's job)

Agreed. And I thought Zabransky came across as annoyingly cocky. I know it was an emotional game and I'm sure there was a lot of euphoria and whatnot, but Ian Johnson handled the question a lot better.

Why tease the poor team. "You think you deserve a shot at OSU?" "Definitely, we've proven we beat everyone on our schedule." "Ha ha! Too bad! No title for you! Not yours!"

Sounds like he's totally ready for the NFL.

Sure sounds like disrespect to BSU to me. Trick plays are part of football, if your team isn't prepared to handle things besides buttonhooks and sweeps, then you weren't prepared to begin with.

Possibly, but it wasn't just those 2 plays. Almost every play in OT was of the trick variety. To me it seemed like the Boise State offense was flat out vanquished by the OU defense, and pretty much the only choice Boise State had left was to resort to school yard football plays. It worked, and they deserve credit for that. But trick plays only work when the defense isn't suspecting them, basically why they are a last resort for offensive efficiency

Trick plays work a lot of the time - often for big yardage. Who says football has to be straightforward? Boise will never have the athletes that a school like OU has. Give them credit for finding ways to move the ball.

I wasn't discrediting BSU for running trick plays. I was just saying that it's awfully hard to call defenses against a team is so unconventional. Worked for the Broncos, so kudos to them.
