I was actually jealous about a few of those plays. Penn State was so fricking predictable on offense this year. I'd love to see a little razzle dazzle now and again

Wow. If it was easy to pull of these trick plays, EVERY team would do it. But its not easy to do, and Boise St. did a lot of the trick plays perfectly. Boise St. was also up 28-10 you know. It isn't like they won because they used some "cheap" trick plays.

I don't know anyone who could have defended that final 2-point play. Unless you had a corner blitz from the backside (which you wouldn't, as the WR's were bunched to the right).

I really liked the play that won the game. Missouri should really look at using that play next year considering they run the wide receiver screen so much.

yep, it's a smart coach who knows when to play into a defense's read of your "tendencies"

Getting back to the USC game, I forgot the USC receiver's name (Jarret?), but he's clearly not ready for NFL. He obviously failed a few classes in respect, integrity and class. As he has none. He's the next TO. Way to show your ass out there today, jerk.

Sounds like he's totally ready for the NFL.

Well, yeah. I suppose so. I just don't prefer the "I'm bigger than the game itself" attitude.

He IS Keyshawn's protégé.

Right, because Keyshawn has had SUCH an illustrious NFL career.

They also won because Paul Thompson sucks. After Boise went up 7-0, Thompson fumbles on the first play after the kickoff which gave Boise the ball at the OU 9. Then in the second quarter with the score 14-7 BSU, he threw and interception in the endzone after OU had gone 52 yards. With the score 21-10 BSU, he threw a pick 6. He directly contributed to 14 BSU points and cost OU at least 3 with a shot at 7.

ETA: I'm not trying to discredit Boise but OU did as much to lose the game as Boise did to win it.

Is Jarrett cocky? Sure. But there aren't many star wide receivers that aren't. This type of behavior isn't unprecedented and doesn't mean he's not ready for the NFL. If he hasn't learned to be respectful now, is he really going to learn that by staying in school for another year? Of course not. Fact is, the guy is a stud receiver. He's had huge games in all three bowl games he's played in. He knows how to go up and get the ball and he's going to be a very good WR in the NFL.

But don't get me wrong - I totally understand the point you're making. He should have been flagged on the TD catch where the Michigan safety hit him late and got a late hit penalty. He also should have got one when, after making a catch, he gave the ball to that same Michigan safety. Just take solace in the fact that if he does this in the NFL, somebody is going to take his head off.

for whatever reason, extreme cockiness and bad sportsmanship seems to be 10 times worse with WR's than any other position. Hilarious, since they are completely powerless if they are never thrown the ball

Too true. I had originally typed "there aren't many star players that aren't" but then reread it, thought about it, and realized that it was mainly wide receivers.

Agreed. But, what I don't understand is how a guy can be so cocky when all it does is piss off the guy who has all the power in the world to take your head off when the QB hangs you out to dry. That might happen regardless of whether or not you're cocky, but I certainly wouldn't want to be fueling the fire.

Those are the two plays that got under my skin. I didn't like that the officials only flagged the DB for a late hit. It should have been both or neither. And I definitely would have thrown the flag when he handed the ball to the DB after the catch.

I've just never understood the whole "gotta show up the opponent" attitude. And if the WR feels like he's entitled to do it, why don't all the offensive linemen who protected the quarterback long enough to make the throw doing it. Why isn't the QB doing it since he's the one who made the throw. Why aren't the other receivers doing it since they spread themselves out all over the field to make the WR who caught it more open to make the catch. Why isn't the coach doing it for calling the play, etc.......

It's a stupid ritual that gives the impression the player is bigger than the game itself. I sure don't like it and I don't know many people who do. But, I sure hope his mother is proud that she raised such a fine, respectful, upstanding individual.

I dunno everything else that Boise did in that game was crazy, and what better way to get Oklahoma overconfident then to let them score right away. It just looked so easy.

I don't think it's likely, but what if...

thats the stupidest thing i ever heard in my life

i want to die right now, what a hell of a game.

Good to know you're still alive.

They used something like that in the passing game to get two touchdowns in the bowl game. Coffman's pass to Saunders was the screen where Coffman just threw it, and Alexander's wide open TD was after Daniel pumped the screen to Coffman and sucked up the safety.

That running play was pretty sweet though. I noticed that the left side was completely bare, but I couldn't figure out what they were going to do with it.

Man it sucks being in the eastern time zone game ends at around 1:00 AM and when a game is that exciting it takes me two or three ours after its over before I can get to sleep. With that said that may be the most exciting ending to any sporting event I have ever personally watched.

Yeah I love that fake wide receiver screen to the wifde open Alexander. That was the same play we used against Oklahoma where Coffman dropped it/ just out of his reach. Seems like you could have many variations of that play that could work successfully.

Boise St. officially can't win the NC, as I learned today that the new BCS rule is that the coaches HAVE to put the winner of the BCS title game at #1 in their final rankings.

Yeah, but they can still win the AP poll.

AP doesn't though.
