Washington beat an Aaron Brooks-less Oregon so UCLA is alone atop the Pac-10.

That's the first time I've heard Aaron Brooks sitting being bad for his team.

What? Wrong sport? Damn.

Hah, imagine that Aaron Brooks being the leading candidate for Conference POY.

WSBT Radio in South Bend is reporting that Kyle McAlarney is planning on returning to ND in the summer and rejoining the basketball team next season rather than transfer. :D

Such great news, and with a huge game against Villanova tomorrow on ESPN, it came at just the right time.

Unreal how badly Clemson got screwed out of that game against Duke. At what point does someone within the NCAA look into this? Hell why doesn't Congress? People bet on these games that are obviously fixed all the time.

Seriously?

Hey they looked into the steroid thing. Duke wins at least two games a year because of terrible clock keeping, how does this happen we have replay to make sure this crap doesn't happen. By the way best avatar ever.

No kidding... Congress can't fix real problems, might as well fix stuff like the gift they got last night. By the way, against Virginia Tech there was a similar clock situation (clock didn't start properly on an inbounds pass) and the refs stopped play and arguably took off too much time. Funny how they don't review a similar situation when it would hurt Duke.

We've been waiting for you to make a pick for 12 hours now Truffle. Did you get a life or something?? ;)

ACC admits to "timing error"

I don't know about "fixed games," but Duke does get a lot of breaks. Coach K is very good at working the sidelines - I honestly believe refs are scared of him.

The Red Raiders roll into Tiger country tomorrow. Hopefully better results than their last road game. Should stay atop the big 12 and show up on in the top 25 next week.

Mizzou vs. Texas Tech tomorrow. My first chance to see Bobby Knight up close and personal. I'm excited.

First of 3 consecutive sellouts at the Arena. Should be a fun atmosphere, hopefully Mizzou plays for a full 40 minutes at home.

IU (14-5, 4-2) about to tip off with Michigan (16-5, 4-2) in Bloomington. Hoosiers need to get it together after an awful performance Tuesday night, and start playing better heading into Tuesday night's match-up with the Badgers. I'll pick IU by 10+ today.

Michigan's a paper tiger, that game won't be in doubt.

MSU goes to Columbus today, hopefully they can make a game of it.

I suspect you my be right. IU up 11-0 after 1 minute 45 seconds. Great start, 38 minutes to go.

I'll be pulling for the Spartans tonight.

How many dunks are UNC and Arizona going to get in the half court? That's at least 5 in the first 9 minutes, and I've been watching IU-Michigan mostly. Speaking of IU-UM, Indiana is blowing them out.

And Arizona isn't making any shots. They're just chucking it from 3 point land, to no advil.

I almost never complain about officials, because there are so many bad calls in every basketball game, they nearly always balance out. That said the reffing in this IU-UM game is so far beyond horrible. Hoosiers lead by a dozen despite the zebras.

Arizona is an embarassment to the Pac-10.

But hey, I enjoy Lute bitch about UCLA, say Jordan Farmar or Arron Afflalo aren't complete players ("Farmar can't go left" "Afflalo can't drive on the Wildcats") and then watch those two torch the Wildcats doing exactly what Lute said they couldn't do. Four in a row, Lute. Four in a row.

IU wins 76-61. Up Next: Wisconsin on Wednesday in B'town, a huge game for IU.

EDIT - The IU-UW game is Wed not Tuesday.

Yeah, it's simply a mammoth game. Lose, and the best IU can really hope for this season is 3rd. Win, and they are right back in the chase for one of the top 2 spots. It will be interesting to see if IU can contain Wisconsin's size.

I think the stars are aligning for a statement win for the Hoosiers. UW has to play tomorrow and have a quick turnaround. They just escaped with wins at NU and Illinois, while the Hoosiers are unbeaten at home. It's hard to expect a win over the #2 team in the country, but I like IU's chances.

It's just my opinion, but I think OSU and Wisconsin are on another level than Indiana (or anyone else in the B10, for that matter). Hoping for a 1 or 2 finish is being very optimistic.

I don't disagree that they are better teams than IU, but IU has a distinct schedule advantage. If the Hoosiers win Wednesday (and I'll conceed that is far from a lock), they will be 1 loss behind UW and OSU, and they are done with both teams. UW and the Buckeyes still play in Columbus, so that will be a second loss for one of them, tying IU. IU has the following road games left: at Iowa, at Purdue, at Michigan, at NU, and at MSU. Other than MSU there is nothing too scary there.

IU still has a long way to go, and they'll need some help, but it is quite possible they make a run at the UW-OSU loser for 2nd in the Big Ten.
