Can someone explain what happened on the call you are all talking about? Some of us are at work and dealing with ESPN game cast which at one point had Illinois players taking free throws for Wisconsin.

Landry drives the lane, Randle(?) tries to take a charge. Landry goes up, Randle falls down, then Landry shoots and makes the layup. Officials called an offensive foul on Landry, but counted the basket.

I don't understand. That makes no sense.

Exactly. They should've either whistled Randle and counted the basket, or gotten Landry for the charge and not counted it.

It was a clear charge. Tucker went over Frazier's back in front of everyone. I think we must have been the road team.

The refs were bad for both sides, the play when Randle got the and 1 right before the Landry play was an offensive foul that wasn't called. Illinois was hacking and reaching in all game, no calls made, so settle down.

UCLA up 35-29 on Arizona at the half, thanks in part to Darren Collison going coast-to-coast in the final 5 seconds to score a la Tyus Edney vs. Mizzou. :)

Such a great play.

<--- was so bored he went to a Ball State women's game today

The team's 15-2 and 6-0 in the MAC though, so it's not a complete waste of time.

UCLA (17-1) beats Arizona 73-69...fourth Bruin victory in a row against the Wildcats.

Arizona has now lost 3 in a row and 4 of its last 5 since Marcus Williams said this about UCLA: "We're the standard. I don't think they are the standard."

And it doesn't matter if it's Farmar, Collison or Westbrook guarding Mustafa Shakur...he just can't do crap against UCLA.

Hell of a win for IU. UCONN was undefeated at home before today. UCONN was also the most athletic team IU has seen this year. Sampson's boys are now 15-4, with all 4 losses coming to teams currently ranked (UK will drop out in the next poll). With the 77-73 win, the Hoosiers have still not allowed 75 points in a game this season.

ESPN has gotten some really good games out of their "Student Spirit Week."

Tonight's Tech/Heels game closes out their week. 5 of the Top 10 recruits from last year are on the same floor (Young/Crit for Tech and Wright/Ellington/Lawson for UNC). Tech has a good chance if they can stay away from turnovers. Other than the loss to UCLA, they have been beating themselves.

Actually, UConn got beat by Marquette in their last game at home, ending a 31-game win streak at home. Still, that's a program defining win. Kelvin Sampson will be in Bloomington for as long as he wants the job. Amazing effort by the boys in red. They got manhandled on the UConn end of the boards, but they hit their free throws. 20-21 from the line, including 6 for 6 down the stretch. UConn was just 17 of 28 from the line, which was the difference. IU did a great job sharing the ball, with 18 assists on 24 baskets. The experienced stars stepped up with White having a monster 1st half and Wilmont doing it in the 2nd.

I worry about going back on the road again on Tuesday to face the Illini. U of I hasn't been very good this year, but DJ is gonna be spent having played 38 minutes today and again having to face an athletic front line.

I'm worried about the emotion of that game as well. U of I fans don't exactly like IU's program right now, and it will be a really tough enviornment to go in and win. I'd love the win, but I'm not incredibly hopeful.

Looking forward, that Wisconsin game at home in a week or two is huge. The only game IU plays them this year at Bloomington-a win there gives us a possible huge tiebreaker advantage while protecting the homecourt.

Oregon came from behind to beat Cal 92-84. They remain tied with UCLA for first in the Pac-10.

With Oregon's win over UCLA a couple weeks ago, they're actually in first place and UCLA is in second. [/technicality]

I just got cheap tix to IU-UI on ebay! It will be crazy there, and a tough game, but IU is the better team. If any Illini want to brawl, I'll be the guy in red.

SIU beat Creighton 58-57 on a shot by Bryan Mullins with 4 seconds left. Nate Funk heaved a last second shot that rimmed in and out to preserve the SIU win.

We're undefeated in the Qwest Center ever since it opened. Nice little feat we have. This win definitely makes the Evansville loss a lot easier to swallow.

Northern Iowa on ESPNU here at the Arena on Tuesday. That should be real interesting.

Tiebreakers, schmybreakers. Let's see the Ducks win at Pauley.

ND cruised over South Florida 82-58, as well they should have. Next up is a trip to St. John's. ND doesn't play well in the state of New York.
