Thank goodness we hired Kelvin and not Alford.

I wish you had Steve, I think he is doing a great job this year. They have two players that are anything yet are competitive.

DJ was a beast! Very interesting team in Bloomington this year. This is a team that would have 7 losses if Davis was there. Very important to hold up your homecourt in conference. This was the one I was worried about as IU has had a game every 3 days for the last 2 weeks, after coming off the holiday break and going into UConn this weekend.

White is putting together a nice string of games. Keep it up DJ (but don't leave after the season, please). His defense and rebounding are especially encouraging.

Even though it's out of conference, I still think the UConn game is important. I'd love to see IU establish a pattern of being able to win on the road.

UConn's down big time right now and it would be a nice time to take advantage of their slide. Of course, that might be the time they wake up.

I'm more than happy with Kelvin. IU hasn't played defense like this in a long long time, we are on our way to 20 wins in year 1, and he has a hell of a recruiting class coming in. I have yet to see any NBA Draft projections that have DJ White in the first round, so imagine IU next year if he returns. Starting 5 of Bassett, EJ, Ratliff, Stemler, DJ. Off the bench the rest of the freshmen, Joey Shaw, Keeling, Ben Allen, Mike White. With Sampson coaching that is a national contender.

ND is at Villanova tonight. It's only their second true road game of the season and they got clobbered in their first one, so I'm a little worried. The double whammy of ESPNU and a night class will keep me from watching it for myself though.

Oregon is something else, they went to Tucson last weekend and beat Arizona - Aaron Brooks won the game again. He's easily the front runner for Pac-10 player of the year.

UCLA vs. ASU tomorrow at Pauley.

Irish won't be winning this game and they don't deserve to. They've had chances to cut the lead from 7 at least four times in the last couple minutes and every single time they've managed to get the ball stolen from them.

Gamblers, tonight's UNC -4 @ Clemson line looks like taking candy from a baby money.

Just an FYI.

18 point lead with 6 minutes to go. Good job, good kid.

Thank goodness Minnesota is a pathetic basketball team. If they were just a REALLY BAD basketball team they would've beaten Illinois tonight.

Well after a half of basketball that must have been awful to watch (20-19), Holy Cross took care of Navy pretty easily, 61-42, to move to 13-6 (4-0 conference). In other Patriot League action:

Bucknell 67, Lafayette 61

Lehigh 60, Colgate 59

Army 60, American 55

Eight teams in action, and the highest-scoring one had 67 points. Patriot League basketball - catch the excitement!

Northwestern has 15 points at halftime. They might not score 30.

SIU loses to Evansville 75-68 :x :x :x

It's best I don't say anything. I'm that pissed at our team right now. Better turn it up a couple of notches when we go down to Omaha on Saturday to take on Creighton.

The Cats started off HORRIBLY in the second half to get down 10 to Baylor at home. Finish the game on a 27-9 run, end up winning by nine. The last 10 mins were great. We'd have never done this under Wooly. I love Huggins.

I saw this post about 10 minutes too late. Fortunately I made up for it by picking the under 82 on total points in the second half. They only combined for 75 points in the first half but only 57 in the second.

Evansville's RPI was around the 115 range, so it's not a TERRIBLE loss, but it is a bad loss. Our other 4 losses came to Arkansas, Indiana, Northern Iowa, and Bradley. So by far, this is our worst loss. As long as we take care of business though and have this be our only one "bad loss", I'll be satisfied.
