Michigan is a terrible team...they had no business beating Illinois

Unfortunately, the Illini are worse, it was very frustrating watching Harris drive the lane time and time again. Of course, that's nothing new with this year' Illini, they have yet to show the ability to stop anyone from driving the lane. At this point, Bruce Weber should be awarded Coach of the Year if somehow manages to go 8-8 with this gutless bunch.

Damnit. That would have been a great win. DJ White has got to get tougher and stronger down low with the ball. He got punked way too many times and continues to have trouble with players that can match up with his height and athleticism.

IU's 4 losses have all come to tourney teams on the road. They have been missing one of their starters for 3 of them.

He was going against Oden. Cut him some slack. I am very impressed you guys played them that well. I wonder if they are starting to hit the wall abit with all of those frosh.

Oden only blocked 1 of his shots. The other big man blocked 3 or 4 more. And it's not just OSU. Same thing happened as a frosh, understandably, in the Big Ten and against Alleyne at Kentucky.

I'm not impressed by playing with anybody. IU has the coaching and talent to compete, especially if they shoot well. They gotta be better down the stretch though. Would have been a huge road win against the best team in the conference.

Give them 1 of the games they have lost late (Butler, Duke, UK, OSU) and they are a tourney lock.

You do realize the impact Oden has is felt at all times? You always are worrying about where he is and as a result will sometimes get your shot blocked by a guy you aren't paying the closest attention too.

I also think you might be over estimating your talent level. It is good, but nothing to warrant beating any of those teams you mentioned.

I understand Oden's impact. But again, I am talking about the times when Oden was out. DJ had 3 shots blocked with Oden on the bench, and didn't dominate like he should with him out. The other guy (whatever his name was) is a good player also, but shouldn't be a dominant force over a player like White.

And I don't know how the talent doesn't warrant beating any of those teams, when they played them all close til the final 2 minutes on the road, and 3 of them while missing a key player.

DJ has had this problem before. It's not just Oden. He really needs to get tougher down low and/or IU needs to develop another scoring threat down low. DJ needs a little help.

They are still struggling to get to the line as well. I guess I may have to just accept that they are a jump shooting team and they are going to live or die by it.

"Moral victories" annoy me. They need to start winning a few games like this. They had several chances to win this game, the Duke game and the UK game. Playing a tough schedule doesn't mean anything if you lose all the tough games.

It's a down year in the Big 10, so I like Penn State's chances of going at least .500 in conference and maybe getting a tourney invite.

Gah, what the hell? The UCLA-Oregon State game won't be on TV anywhere...not here, not in Corvallis. Lame.

Ha quit being on the west coast and then ESPN and Full Court will pick you up. What a joke. Meanwhile Duke's practice will be shown tonight, you know cause of their program's history.

Maybe it's due to the clean history at Duke.

Do you know who Myron Piggie is? Ask Coach K about him and Corey Maggette then get back to me with their clean history.

awesome response, thank you. Unfortunately, ESPN doesn't talk about that whole thing because they've cast their financial lot with Duke.

Yeah I find it ironic that most people don't know about it, yet feel free to rip on other schools.

I guess I should have used the sarcasm button. I was digging on both schools with that comment. Although that was a single incident at Duke (that we know of) and UCLpAy has their history with Sam Gilbert.

I would think that would tell DJ he is no where ready to jump to the next level. He needs all 4 years to develop. I think Sampson will get more out of him than Davis ever would have. It's just too bad he had 2 years of no coaching.

In happier January 3rd ND developments, the Irish moved up to 17th in the AP poll, then beat Louisville in the Big East opener 78-62 behind 19 from Russ Carter, 15 from Luke Harangody, and a career-high 14 from new point guard Tory Jackson. Rick Pitino called the Irish a "legitimate contender" and asked why we weren't ranked higher after the game. :D It's ND's longest winning streak (12) in over 20 years.

SIU beat Drake 59-54. Jamaal Tatum had a 4 point play with a couple of minutes left and Matt Shaw had a three point play with 20 seconds left to put us up in front for good. Randal Falker added a dunk to end the game with a 5 point win.

And now a BIG thumbs down to ESPN for saying that we LOST 59-54 online and on the bottom line. Very embarassing.

After a USC bucket, Oregon gets called for charging with 5 seconds to go. USC is going to the line up 83-81. USC missed the first FT and Oregon called a timeout.
Posted
I knew this was going to happen. The Oregon player shooting the FT's was Aaron Brooks. He made the first, missed the second, and intentionally missed the third. Oregon couldn't get a shot off and fall from the ranks of the unbeatens.

You knew that exact sequence would happen?
