The Irish are now ranked 20th in both polls.

And wow, Louisville isn't very good.

The conference is wide open this year as there are no dominate teams and this goofy schedule will determine who wins more than talent. Louisville is a hit or miss team this year.

great game and game plan by Mizzou. Defintely a better team than I thought. KU, as usual, looked alarmingly inconsistent. I want to have Sherron Collins's babies.

Self will fix Collins in a year or two. :D I sure am glad Weber whiffed on him.

SIU moved back into a tie for 1st place in the Valley with a 72-62 win over Drake. SIU now stands at 14-4 and 5-2 in conference play. Two road games in a row starting tomorrow at Evansville. I doubt we'll be overlooking them as they did manage to beat us there last year at their place.

Iowa at Indiana tonight. Hoosiers are starting to get some votes for the top 25. I think they are 30 and 31st in the two polls. A win tonight and at UConn Saturday and IU could slide in to the top 25 next week. Then the big showdown at Illinois a week from today.

Sloppy first half for IU, but they still lead by a dozen 29-17. IU should be able to cruise to 4-1 in the Big Ten if they play offense like they have most of the year in the second half.

They will win this one going away.

Ugly last 5 minutes, but IU still wins by 7. Thats 4-1 now in the Big Ten, 13-4 overall with the losses coming to 4 ranked teams, 3 on the road and 1 neutral site. I didn't expect Sampson to do so well in year one at IU.

DJ was a beast! Very interesting team in Bloomington this year. This is a team that would have 7 losses if Davis was there. Very important to hold up your homecourt in conference. This was the one I was worried about as IU has had a game every 3 days for the last 2 weeks, after coming off the holiday break and going into UConn this weekend.

Ball State breaks the skein and officially rids themselves of the title of worst team in the MAC by beating the new worst team in the MAC, Northern Illinois. Relatively easy 71-60 win. Our JC transfer center Micah Rollin, who never played HS basketball but is a 6'10, 280 pound behemoth, is developing pretty nicely.

I had the "pleasure" to watch NIU's game on Saturday against Central Michigan. Uh, wow. They flat out suck. That game on Saturday was probably the worst game I've ever seen on any level. They look that bad. James Hughes has all of the skills to be a great college player, yet he has no focus and no motivation. Mike McKinney is a good player at times, but also can be a very bad player at times. The rest of the team lacks basic basketball fundamentals and that all stems from the head coach. How this team got so bad in one year, I have no idea.

Now that was an amazing finish to the Texas-OK State game. I wish I hadn't tuned in so late (I only saw the last 4 minutes of triple OT) but a 3 point play answered by a game winning 3, simply awesome.

Am I crazy or was there a Marcus McKinney at NIU that wore the same number? I'm guessing I'm nuts and it's the same guy but I thought there was one already. That guy #10, Paradise, can really shoot the trey - we would've probably run away with it early but for him, Lipkins and McKinney draining threes the entire first half.

The best highlight was that "Save the ball from out of bounds, turn around and throw up a 40 ft three pointer as the shot clock expires" play in regulation

You may be thinking of Marcus Smallwood who wore #2. That would be my only guess.

Paradise can shoot the 3, but he is a REAL dumb basketball player. He is way too turnover prone and his basketball IQ isn't all there. Lipkins is a solid player, but he isn't really used right by Judson.

The team was expected to struggle this year, but not as bad as this. They should easily be 0-4 in the MAC as their win against WMU was a real fluke win on a choke job by the Broncos in the final 20 seconds. Their only four wins are against St. Mary's (of the D3 level), Duquesne twice, and WMU. Not very solid at all. Judson has to be fired after this year. Nothing but underachieving teams throughout his tenure at NIU.
