the big XII is gonna get hammered in that next year. I honestly don't see one comfortable win for us.

I think that's partially because it's so hard to see how teams are going to develop. There's a lot of young teams this year all the way through the conference(aTm and Tech are really the only schools that have a heavy senior class), and while the draft will claim some of the top talent, I think you'll see a much stronger conference next year, especially since there are so many first year coaches this year.

I'll like our chances with a healthy Walker, Beasley, Sutton, and Hoskins, paired with a year improved Bennett or Colon. I wish it was next bball season already... this one sucks.

Big East's 16 teams probably precludes any such agreement from being made. ND this year has about the easiest schedule one can have in the Big East, dodging Pitt and UConn. They do play Villanova twice, but they also play DePaul and USF twice.

a 16 team conference is really, really dumb and i can't believe anyone approved it. You know your conference is too big when a) not everyone can play each other and b) the bottom 4 teams can't even participate in the conference tourney

Everyone could play each other, but for whatever reason, the Big East decided to have each team play three teams twice and three teams not at all each year. It'd make sense if they were doing that to preserve rivalries, but no, the teams are randomly selected each year. I have no idea what the Big East thinks it's doing, but it pumps up ND's SOS each year so whatever.

They are changing the scheduling problem in the future, as soon as next year I've heard.

Will that scheduling plan include having all 16 teams in the conference tournament?

Not that I heard of. When Syracuse played their 4th game in a row in the BE Champ Game I think that is as many games as you can play. They were toast by the time it came to the NCAA's and I don't see the BE wanting the top teams to play 3 to 4 games before the Maddness.

Indiana visits Penn State tomorrow at noon. I don't see good results happening here...

We'll see, as an IU fan I hope they win. However, they are 0-3 on the road so far this season. Granted, those three road games were Duke, Kentucky, and Ohio State.

Despite, PSU not being as good a team, I think the game will be a lot closer than the Purdue and MSU games. Gotta shoot well on the road for a change.

BTW, if they played today, IU would beat Duke and UK on the road. And I also count Butler as a road game. It was like 5 minutes from their campus.

I have a hunch that Butler fans probably didn't outnumber IU fans at that game. There are probably more IU fans in the greater Indianapolis area than Butler fans in the entire country.

I wouldn't say that for sure-there was a tournament in 2002 where both IU and Butler participated in that I went to -there were at least as many Butler fans as IU fans there. There are a great number of IU fans in the area, but Butler has a pretty big following around Indy as well, and probably got plenty of fans there.

Odd first half in State College. Got an IU team that doesn't allow many teams over 60, giving up 41 to Penn St. in the first half.

12-3 fouls called against IU. 14-4 PSU FT advantage. IU has hit 8-20 3s though to keep them in it.

Do Indiana's players know that they're allowed to shoot the ball from inside the three-point arc?

PSU played a lot of zone, taking away the inside game.

IU took the right approach and burned them from three point range.

Northwestern might be up more than 7-6 if not for the fact that all three of Wisconsin's baskets came from uncontested layups following offensive rebounds...

Solid win for the Hoosiers. Any Big Ten road win is nice, and PSU is going to beat some decent teams in Happy Valley this year. The progress this team has made under Sampson from November to now is very impressive.
