Northwestern hosts I-AA power New Hampshire this Saturday at 1 PM central. It's their first non I-A game since they played Princeton in 1986. It won't be on TV and while the forecast right now doesn't look great, come on up if you have the afternoon free to see the home opener for $30/$20 endzone.

They'll honor Coach Walk throughout the game and New Hampshire will give NU's improved secondary a look at a very solid QB/WR combo. Plus, it'll be interesting to see their newly implemented 3-4 and 3-3-5 defensive sets in person. Hopefully Heinz will be ready to go and Sutton's ankle is 100%. Either way, it's going to be fun watching Kafka do his thing. I'd imagine McGee will start to open up the offense just a tad.

I seem to be the only one I know who thinks Ball State stands a chance against IU. The Hoosiers have more talent, but BSU has the athletes to compete (BJ Hill, Darius Hill, Dante Love, Nate Davis, Louis Johnson) offensively. I think this one will be a shootout and the Hoosiers will probably win by 10-14 points, but Ball State is a very good team and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a Cardinals victory.

Syracuse will pass for 30-50 yards against Iowa and rush for almost 100. Watch how many times Patterson throws the ball behind or at the receivers feet....it's quite amusing. If he does throw it on target watch the WR's trip over their own feet.

Iowa 34

Syracuse -10

I see my man Knipp had a pick last week. Let me know how he looks out there.

UK vs. 1-AA North Texas. Uk was slaughtered by UL and NT was beaten badly by Texas.

24-15 UK as UK gets 1/4th of the way to their season's win total in the farewell Rich Brooks tour.

NIU should beat Ohio by 3 TD's. Hopefully Wolfe can get 200 yards, but the last time Ohio was in DeKalb was in 2003 when NIU was 7-0 at the time. Ohio's defense did a great job of stopping Michael Turner and they made Josh Haldi (NIU's QB at the time) beat them. It almost worked as they almost pulled off the upset, before PJ Fleck took over the game in the 4th quarter and in the OT to give NIU the win.

Is OU really that bad? Did they lose a bunch of players to graduation last year?

They were picked to finish in the mid to low part of the MAC East. The MAC East isn't really good besides Akron this year. The better MAC teams this year are in the West (NIU, Toledo, Ball St, Western/Central Mich). I look for NIU to take out their frustration, from last week, on Ohio.

NIU's defense, which was the week point of the team the past couple of years, is supposed to be much improved this year. Obviously when you're facing two Heisman candidates and a team whose O-line is about 100 pounds heavier than each of your members on the D-line, you won't really find out too much on how your defense is going to perform.

Knipp looked very good last week. I didn't see the INT, but he had a solid tackle near the goal line late in the first quarter and also did well on special teams coverage. Brady Hoke loves to play talented young guys and Knipp looks to be one of them.

I dont want to look down on people for who the cheer for and why. I just dont understand a fan of a Big Ten team cheering for Texas to beat OSU. I am going to go out on a limb and say that Texas sure has had its unsavory players.(Like OSU) I am sure the payroll there is just as good as it is in Columbus, South Bend, Ann Arbor, State College or East Lansing(had to throw my team in there just to show I am not biased)

I guess I just cheer for Big Ten teams to win all non conference games. I personnally would think it would suck to win the conference like Illinois did 4 or 5 years ago not because they were really good but because everyone else sucked. I feel the better the conference is the better each team in it is. I guess being a MSU fan you kind of got to reach for something.

All that being said I think Texas is going to win though in a high scoring game. 38-31

I also think ND is going to bounce back and handle Penn St 31-20. Score being closer than the game really is.

I hope Ohio State wins so they can be #1 when they come to Kinnick (although they won't be #1 after they leave) on September 30th and bring Gameday with them.

Actually their offense looked pretty scary on Saturday and that defense can fly with a couple of tough lineman up front.

Unfortunately I won't be able to see that or hardly any other games on Saturday because of a stupid wedding that I'm in.

I bet your new wife wouldn't like to read that...take it back.

Considering all the crap Texas players have been busted for lately, I'm starting to wonder if Texa$ deserves a place alongside O$U and F$U in the lexicon.

Minnesota at Cal. The Big Ten is terrible when traveling to a Pac 10 team.

Gophers are going to pull the upset.

Not at Berkeley.

GO BRUINS!

I know Minnesota will likely lose but both of my parents went to Minnesota so I have to show my loyalty.

Don't waver and don't lose your confidence. I was in your shoes last year in the week leading up to the Stanford-UC Davis game. I kept telling people that Davis had a chance because Stanford wasn't that good. All I heard that week was "Davis is going to get killed" and "Davis is just a DI-AA team so they don't have a chance". I'm not going to lie, I thought Davis was going to lose but I did think it was going to be a very close game. I had so much fun calling everybody out that next week.

The winner of the Ohio St-Texas game will go undefeated and will be in the BCS title game on January 8. Guaranteed.

And I think it will be OSU.

In other words, we can bet on it and if it doesn't work out that way you'll cover our losses?

Do I get half of the winnings if I'm right?

Sounds like a good deal; you get half the winnings if you're right but cover all the losses if you're wrong. :D

Ugh, so much OSU hate.

Stop whining all you Notre Shame fans, christ, i'm sorry you looked so bad your first week out.

OSU will hang some points on Texas, and it sure is gonna be a fun game to watch.

And if I'm lucky the Illini can pull past Rutgers.

i dont' know if i'm lucky.

I think it would be cool if the OSU-Texas game were close and they ended up 1-2 at the end of the year and the team that lost got their revenge.

Is there a way to turn off the '8+)'=8)?
