The "WE ARE" chants are ridiculously stupid.

The Whiteouts are awesome.

Oh, because the O-H-I-O chants are so awesome.

OHIO is a weak chant. If 1/3 of the shoe chanted THE, next third chanted OHIO, last third chanted STATE, it would be comical.

MIZZOU sounds like a decent chant. ILLINI is pretty good too.

We are just sounds silly to me.

you expect people in Ohio Stadium to be able to measure thirds?

I wish I could refute these statments, but sadly I cannot.

I think they will be able to handle PSU just fine. Speaking of which, has anyone ever been to the ESPN Zone in Vegas? That is where I will be watching the game at.

I was there during bowl season. It's a nice place, but overrated. Any of the casinos showing games are just as good - and don't require you to get $10 worth of food every hour you stay there (plus the whole free drinks if you're watching the game in the casino proper).

You have to get $10 worth of food there, every hour? That is ridiculous. I may just go to the sports book area in the casino to watch it then. Anyone have any other suggestions on a good place to watch it there?

Food and drinks. It's not cool.

I saw the Holiday Bowl for an hour and bailed, I had more fun watching it from the big screen TVs on the casino floor.

Side note: Bowl season is a tremendously fun time to go to Vegas.

I can imagine it would be. I was there for the Final Four this year, and it was a blast. Bowl season would be much better IMO.

Does having money on the game count as gambling, in order to get the free drinks?

Well, I sat at one of the slot machines and started getting some free drinks (I'd half-ass and play slot poker, but really was paying attention to the football games).

You'd definitely be able to get free drinks if you had money on the games - I didn't but was sitting in the area and I still got free drinks.

Go for the beers, they're not watered-down like the mixed drinks.

Oh, and the best part of the ESPN Zone was the high def TVs above each urinal.

Sounds like the solution to the problem is hang out at ESPN Zone's urinals. No need for the $10 on food per hour, and no line for the bathroom.

So in this is the ND thread then is it hosted by ESPN, because that is the station of the Yankees and ND

I can honestly say that most ND fans hate ESPN.

I thought that was the only highlights they lead off with every week, or Florida

No.

Really? Why not? They struggled against an unranked team, while every other team killed their unranked opponents. I wouldn't be suprised if Texas and USC slipped past them.

I don't know what they are going to be ranked but they just received the Heisman Trophy for Quinn and they accidently put it in the trophy case too early so the secret is out.

because they are Notre Dame and they won, so no voter is going to drop them

Unfortunately you are wrong. There is a precedent for ND dropping in the polls after they win.

I know it's possible. PSU lost a chance at the NC in 1994 because they dropped from #1 to #2 after beating Indiana (and the 3rd string defense allowed a few late scores)

I'd go so far as to guarantee that some voters will drop them. They will have less points this week than they did last week. Whether it'll be enough to drop them a spot or few is a different story.

ND drops to No. 4 behind Texas and USC. Texas apparently deserved to move up after playing so well against North Texas. Not that ND didn't deserve to fall, but you can't drop them below a team that played a Sun Belt team at home.

You can if they're the defending national champs and had a no contest with a sun belt team.

Calling a team without last year's QB or RB the "defending" national champs is kind of a contradiction in terms though.

I forgot about that. The rankings system is college football is sooo flawed. I really don't like it at all.

I thought it was obvious on Sat night that they were going to drop ND so they could have a #1vs#2 matchup this weekend. Personnally I think ND was ranked to high to begin with. I really think if any team should have moved up to #2 it should have been USC.

They still have Young and Charles at HB.

Anyway, I think Texas jumping them had as much to do with a 1 vs 2 matchup this week as it did with their respective showings.

They still have an excellent defense. And I wouldn't consider it to be a contradiction in terms. This sort of thing happens all the time in sports both college and professional. The only difference in college is that it's expected because of graduation. Texas won the National Championship last year so they are the defending national champions. Every team is going to have turnover from year to year.
