Wow...Tech's offensive is going totally conservative in the 2nd half.

So stupid.

ND can't stop Calvin Johnson, heck no college DB can stop Calvin Johnson,

I would just keep thowing it to him no matter the score.

Irish look ready to take over now in the 3rd quarter.

As much as I think Charlie Weiss is overrated, I really liked his play calls at the end of the game. I would want to play for a coach who calls plays like that.

So in this is the ND thread then is it hosted by ESPN, because that is the station of the Yankees and ND

I can honestly say that most ND fans hate ESPN.

I hate ESPN. Doesn't have anything to do with the Irish, but I do.

Anyways. 2 hours, 20 minutes.

WE ARE!

Besides the fact that they (ESPN) have two senile ex ND coaches on their staff. Well....one senile and one terrible ex-coach that is.

We are. ND. Was the idea, but Adam stood me up on it. Haha.

That was not the performance I was hoping for.

Me neither. Especially from Smardjalphabet. He looked real good

And that saftey better have shaved the rest of his head after the game or the Preists won't let him on campus. ND has standards to keep up after all.

2006 Notre Dame is akin to 2005 USC. Throw in a slight downgrade at QB, moderate downgrade at WR, a huge disadvantage in RB talent, and a much tougher schedule.......and you get an 8-3 team instead of a National Championship contender.

Losses to Michigan, USC, UCLA. BOOK IT!

I don't see any of those downgrades you talked about. And UCLA lost their entire offense from last year, there is no way ND loses to them.

So you really think Darius Walker = LenDale White + Reggie Bush? Because that is just ludicrous. I would also give 2005 USC an advantage at WR if you factor in Reggie Bush lining up there 10-15 times a game. Quinn would be a slight downgrade because he doesn't have a Heisman like Leinart did going into last year.

Oh, thanks for clearing up his post for me. I thought he was comparing 2006 ND to 2005 ND. That makes much more sense now. #-o

Sorry about that.

A few things about Saturdays game

The defense looked good. To completely shut then out in the second half was very impressive, at least too me. I was worried that their running game was going to take the game over, but ND was able to adjust.

Reggie Ball is not good at all, but Calvin Johnson makes him look kind of good.

ND has a serious kicking problem. Hopefully it gets fixed before it costs them a game.

ND did not look like a #2 team in this game, which I think is good. It may sound wierd but I think that them struggling is the best thing for them. Maybe they will realize that they are not as good as the media makes them sound. Quinn was off this game, missing wide open receivers, and the O-line was way to jumpy. To many false starts and holding calls (plus a leg whip call?). Luckily they will have these kinks worked out before they play a team that won't let them get away with these mistakes.

Sam Young is huge.

The call against Quinn for helmet to helmet was illegal. And GT got some calls from the refs as well (ball spot on Choice run, holding on McKnight), so it definately equaled out for those who think that helmet to helmet is legal. All-in-all I think the refs sucked, and called to many penalties in general.

I think they will be able to handle PSU just fine. Speaking of which, has anyone ever been to the ESPN Zone in Vegas? That is where I will be watching the game at.

I was there during bowl season. It's a nice place, but overrated. Any of the casinos showing games are just as good - and don't require you to get $10 worth of food every hour you stay there (plus the whole free drinks if you're watching the game in the casino proper).

The "WE ARE" chants are ridiculously stupid.

The Whiteouts are awesome.

Oh, because the O-H-I-O chants are so awesome.

OHIO is a weak chant. If 1/3 of the shoe chanted THE, next third chanted OHIO, last third chanted STATE, it would be comical.

MIZZOU sounds like a decent chant. ILLINI is pretty good too.

We are just sounds silly to me.

They actually do those because Ohio State grads are proud that they can spell the name of their own state.

You have to get $10 worth of food there, every hour? That is ridiculous. I may just go to the sports book area in the casino to watch it then. Anyone have any other suggestions on a good place to watch it there?
