Brenly Calls out ARam, Again!

ARam 'spectating' again on the bases. Jones double down the leftfield line, ARam dogs it to third. Too busy looking at the ball and not picking up Quade at third base and hustling.

Brenly says "most Cubs would have scored easily".

But Bob, some Cub fans think it's OK to dog it. After all, we can't ask them to do too much. Yeah, right.

If only he hustled more-that's all that you need! Hit .220, get an OBP of .260, but try real hard...then we'll win the World Series!

The problem doesn't lie with the player who lacks effort. The fault lies with the organization that enables that behavior.

I believe the problem is a mutual one; the Cubs shouldn't alllow him to do it or put up with it, but Aramis should have enough self-pride to hustle when he needs to.

Dude, it's not that he isn't hustling, he just hustles at the wrong time.

Personally I find Aram's attitude arrogant and insulting -- "hey, I'm a big star. Us stars can loaf when we feel like it. Hustling on every play is for lesser players".

What type of example does that set for the rest of the team? I don't care how good his numbers are, laziness is unacceptable.

Don't forget scrappy guys. We need more of those! A few gritty ones too!

So do you like him or not? and if not who would you rather have? Aramis is a player that no matter what people say he isn't going to always be a 100% effort guy. But that is nothing new it seems like the better you get the less you have to try. Bonds he stoped playing any out field, Soriano did u see him in the outfield? Aramis is not hurting his team yea sometimes he gets caught up in what is going on in the game and doesn't play the game like some people think it has to be played, but I know I would take him on my team pretty much 9 out of 10 times.

it doesn't really matter at this point, but if it were ronny cedeno dogging out there, you can bet your bippie that he'd hear about it. or if rich hill said something about how nice jones' double was, he'd probably be cut.

Cedeno did have a chance to make a play where if he had put more effort into a play, it might've saved a run. He sat back on a slower ground ball and underhand flipped it to Perez who was going to have to throw against his momentum compared to Cedeno who would have to run to 2B phantom tag 2B and throw out Floyd down the lin had he charged it aggressively and completed to throw to Nevin.

It was more of a judgement call than lack of effort, IMO.

If Randy Moss can take a few routes off here and there then certainly ARAM can dog it around teh bases every once in a while. (Sarcasm).

On the spectrum of problems that are keeping the Cubs from competing, Aramis not hustling probably isn't going to crack the top 10.

Haha I know right. I can't believe that A-Ram not hustling is what people constantly want to point out as the problem with the '06 Cubs. I'm sure if he hustled the Cubs would be leading the NLC by 5.5 games.

that doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed.

I agree. But Aramis is one of the few competent guys on offense and folks want to run him out of town for not hustling.

what is the most interesting thing is that people are buying into the media's non-sense with the so called whipping boys each season and we end up getting rid of good players. i hope the people that are so upset about this would also say that they wouldn't want manny ramirez in left field. it's a ridiculous concept.

who is going to play third base next year after aramis opts out because he can't stand playing in a town that doesn't appreciate an all star third baseman? it's not going to be alex rodriguez.
