Yep, multiple HD streams going at once in our house is an issue. Also, 4K and its successor are coming soon. Data caps are being implemented in a lot of areas. There's no free lunches in media consumption. Eventually, costs are going to rise a good bit on streaming if everyone transitions over to that. For most of my customers, that issue is related to the throughput limitations of the AP not the bandwidth of their ISP. Of course, I have zero knowledge of your set up, so I'll just say this as a general comment. To fix that streaming issue of 2 to 3 people seeming to max out the ability to stream, I usually install a couple of access points to distribute the traffic over multiple devices. My AP of choice right now for consumers is Ubiquiti's Unifi APs. They run about $70/AP, you can set up the same SSID throughout the house on different APs and it will hand off from 1 AP to the next as you move through. By splitting up the traffic like this, it has fixed that issue for all but one of the people I work with and that guy had a router that was causing his issue. Side note, if you go this route, creating multiple SSIDs (like enabling the guest network feature) forces the AP to split itself in to multiple virtual APs which reduces the throughput by about 65% for any one SSID network.

I've had this problem too but MLBtv is pretty good at fixing that for you if you call. In their terms they have a link to check your zip code and if that says you shouldn't be blacked out, just call them, they ask for your IP address and then 5 minutes later you are good to go. I've even called and lied telling them I'm traveling in Minnesota but pulling a Wisconsin IP address when the cubs play the brewers. In my experience, most of the guys I've talked to on the customer service line don't give a horsefeathers about opening up your IP and I've never been told no they won't do it.

You are right, I knew they always had issues but some of the stuff in that article I had never heard before. The sheer inefficiency of the previous administration is astounding. Comparatively, the use of new tools like that from the field of neuroscience and sports psychology in addition to the sabermetrics probably has as much to do with the success they are seeing. I'm also sure that the Cubs have not shared everything they do, which makes me encouraged about the science that they aren't sharing.

Finally got my tickets from Priceless.com, they are 200 level tickets, third base line. I'm 90% confident that they will be releasing WS tickets tomorrow morning at 8am for $200 each. -Rob

Also, I spoke with a woman from the site about additional seats being released for the NLDS and NLCS, she said she wasn't sure about additional seats but that starting Wednesday you may see availability again because they gave anyone who "purchased" tickets on Saturday with a bad credit card three days to present a good credit card. So if someone bought tickets and their credit card was declined, those will hit mid-week this week. That's about the extent of what I know.

From what I've seen, you purchase a voucher for tickets that can be redeemed once MasterCard gets its allotment. I've purchased the vouchers but they don't have the tickets yet and it just says the seats will likely be upper deck reserved or something like that.

I thought maybe we could post alternative sources for post season tickets that we've come across. I was able to get NLDS for $56/ticket and NLCS for $90/ticket last Saturday morning at priceless.com. They appear to be sold out now but it looks like they will be releasing WS tickets soon. Only catch is you must have a MasterCard so if you don't have one....apply now!

sweet...a two page conversation that has nothing to do with the topic. Perhaps if people want to discuss the future of the Reds they could do it in...oh I don't know...another topic?? With all due respect, there are people who can't monitor this website constantly, so when we return to see many new pages added to the "PEAVY" thread one figures there must be news or rumors. To then sift through many many posts of Reds garbage becomes a waste of one's time.

By reading some posts, its obvious many of you have never been in a negotiation before. I negotiate for a job and there is nothing either side has said publicly so far that would lead me to believe that a deal can't get done here. Here it is laid out: Cubs make an offer Pads don't like the offer so they make a counter offer Cubs don't like the counter and stick to original offer Pads make a statement that the Cubs don't have what it takes----> to gain leverage Everyone else drops out of negotiations Cubs use this development to gain leverage and say-----> they don't need another pitcher Pads actually back down a bit when Towers says something to the effect that he thinks the only team he can get a deal done with is Chicago to indicate to the Cubs that they should try again Cubs see the crack and tell them they are walking away for a couple days and "we'll get back to you" ----->to gain leverage Next what would normally happen in a negotiation is the Cubs come back in 10ish days offering a little bit more so the Pads can feel like they won but don't completely give the pads what they want. At that point the Pads can accept or the cycle can repeat with the pads trying to gain leverage. The Cubs are in the superior bargaining position here. The Cubs really don't need him and from what I have read the Pads must trade him and Peavy sounds like he has made it clear to Towers that he wants to go to Chicago. Puts Towers in a very tough position, so the Cubs just need to make an offer that allows Towers to save face. One thing that is absolutely true is that never believe anything that is said in a negotiation because 1. people lie 2. people are dynamic, things change Hope this helps to settle things down. I paid $175. So my two bleacher tix cost me $156 with all the fees and shipping included. All in all I paid $331 for the pair. ($175 password + $156 to the Cubs box office) Definitely much better than the $800/pair you're probably looking at for 2 bleachers. Hopefully this works. I think it will. Yes, you can actually bring in small soft sided coolers, must be small enough to fit under your seat (so big enough to carry 6-8 bottles). As long as they are sealed and not overtly alcohol they will let it go. Additionally you are allowed to bring in your own food as well. When I go, I bring my own premixed Captain and Coke in 20 oz bottles and two five pound bags of peanuts and pistashios. You just have to go through the bag search line when entering the stadium, takes a little longer.
