Has Anyone Started Watching More Sox Games?

Seriously. . . I am as big a Cubs fan as they come, but they are absolutely brutal right now. I can't even bring myself to watch the games anymore knowing what is about to come. The Sox, on the other hand, are a very good team. They play the game the right way and are quite likeable. Sure their fans suck, but when I'm home I don't worry about that so much.

 

Thus, here is my confession...lately I find that I would rather watch Sox games as opposed to Cubs games. Does that make me a bad person? Am I alone?

I could see a cubs fan not wanting to see the Cubs play at this point badly enough that they'd rather watch the Sox play. I can't imagine them wanting to watch the Sox play more than they'd want to NOT watch the Sox play.

There's no problem with watching the Sox, as long as you root for the other team. If not, you are a bandwagon jumpin' traitor.

I watch, but I do that to stay informed, not because I'd think about jumping bandwagons.

 

I don't get into the bitterness of rooting for them to lose, I guess I'm apathetic to their performance.

 

I do like a couple Sox players who I like to see do well.

I watch a ton, I have 3 starters on my fantasy team from the Sox, so I have a lot invested in their success.

 

Also, I'm not gonna lie, I don't hate them like many Cubs fans here. I thoroughly enjoyed the World Series success, I thought it brought a lot of energy to the town. (Probably helped boost the Bears and Bulls this past season) I'm a 300x bigger Bears fan than I'll ever be a Cubs fan.

 

I don't want to sound like one of those "Chicago fans" but I don't root against them. Pretty neutral.

Like bc2k said, I watch to stay informed. I have MLB.TV so if I'm bored the first thing I do is look if a game is on. If the Sox game happens to be the best game being played at that time then I'll watch it. But only then.

 

And when they play the Cubs.

I kinda have a soft spot in my heart for them. Gotta respect a franchise that has successfully defended their crown for 14 some years, if not for some embarrassment in the playoffs. Plus they play good baseball.

Was gonna make a new post about this, but there's enough threads about the trash on the south side on this forum already. My buddy was in Minnesota this weekend. He saw Buehrle out at a bar last night and Buehrle is still holding to his Maddux is a cheater idea, saying:

 

"he said maddux is the biggest cheater in baseball

 

he said theres no way his 2 seamer can move that much w/out spittin on it"
