you're gonna ruin the mojo pullin stunts like that

Yep. See what happened in the last game when I stole his line? I'm so ashamed of myself.

Dusty, if you start Hairston over Walker, you are an [expletive] moron. I don't care about lefty/righty crap. Walker has fared a bajillion times better against Claussen than Hairston has.

They have a combined 14 at bats against Claussen, making a decision based on that is silly. You might make the case that Walker(recently) and Hairston don't have defined platoon splits, but Hairston hasn't started a game all year and now is a pretty decent chance to give him a look to make sure his bat stays sharp.

Agreed. Hairston needs a chance to prove himself as a starter at some point early in the season.

The Cubs have to win today and tomorrow or the St. Louis serise was pretty much a wash.

Come on Angel, Neifi, and Jerry. Make some lemonaide.

With Jones (and possibly Ramirez) out, I fear our first bad Dusty lineup. Something like this perhaps:

Pierre - CF

Perez - 3B

Lee - 1B

Barrett - C

Murton - LF

Hairston - 2B

Pagan - RF

Cedeno - SS

Pitcher

That's a 1 run offense if I've ever seen one

Hope we have Jones or at least ARam in the lineup. Guys on the Score were talking about it earlier. They said Jones is speculated to miss a couple of games with that Hammy, while ARam they said who knows. They'd expect him to play tomorrow, but with him you never know.

Wait... what? What happened to Ramirez??

He strained his 'rear end' swinging at a pitch late in the game.

Seriously?? I hadn't heard that.

It'll be real interesting to see our lineup today...

BTW - How in the heck to you strain your arse?

At least the game is on WGN today so I can watch it in between chasing two kids around the house

Unless the score becomes 9-0 again.

According to weather.com, the wind should be howling out about 20 MPH to CF and we own Claussem IIRC, so we shall see.

hopefully Maddux keeps the ball down or else we could be in trouble today with that wind blowing out.

The wind may hurt some balls hit to left, but they're going to be flying out to right today.

I'd still prefer Walker in the lineup. 2 HRs in 8 at bats is nothing to sneeze at. Plus, the Cubs are facing another lefty tomorrow that Hairston can start against.
