And the war begins...

Andy versus over 50 percent of the NSBB fanbase.

Let's see who wins!!

I think this game is decided by a big special teams play. I'll hold off on my pick for now, though.

This game is far more important for the Panthers. Plus, the Panthers have the better team. Carolina wins it, but I don't see any chance of a blowout, and it wouldn't surprise me to see a Bears upset.

I dont know if I agree that this game is far more important to the Panthers. The Vikings have played better the last few games and still have a game left with the Bears and with the Bears upcoming schedule a win against at home vs Carolina is important. Im not arguing that Carolina isnt a better team but does anybody else find it funny how the Bears are torn apart because of their weak schedule, but Carolina has played a weaker schedule than the Bears, but many are picking them to go to the Super Bowl now? This game should show just how far the Bears have came since the Bengals game. I cant wait to see the Bears D vs the Panthers offense. The Bears have to get pressure on Delhomme to have a chance in my opinion.

Also for those of us who are wanting Grossman to take over when he is back, he played in a 7 on 7 scrimmage today for the first time and said he felt pretty good. Still tageting the TB game, but said it might be the game vs the Pack.

The Vikings offense scored 3 points last week.

Go Bears! I'm calling the upset.

Put 2 men on Steve Smith at all times. Not that it has helped anyone else this season.

BTW, watch out for DeShaun Foster. The Bears should have their way with Stephen Davis who likes to run up the middle. They have their problems with speedier backs.

Don't worry about DeShaun. I love, love, LOVE John Fox, but his one major flaw, besides being too conservative offensively once he has a two-possession lead, is not using DeShaun effectively. Foster should be this team's starting RB right now but I think Fox still thinks Davis can be a Pro Bowler, although he's getting up there in years for a RB. Foster's main utilization this year has been out of the backfield as a receiver.

Don't hold off nd, the Panthers are a far better team. They're my #3 behind the Bears and Seahawks, so I probably think they're better than they actually are, but still, it's fun to see my 3 favorite teams all leading the way.

I understand the Vikes offense only scored 3 points last week. But just because the offense doesnt score doesnt mean they havent been playing better as a whole, and just because they scored 3 points on offense as a Bears fan we all know that the win is all that matters because our offense hasnt been putting up numbers either. But I to will pick a Bears upset 14-10

I think the Cover 2 will limit Smith deep, of course, remembering what Cincy did to it is still fresh in my mind. This will be their 1st real test since Cincy.

true

I think this will be close. If orton plays like he usually does (badly), the bears lose. If he plays like a real NFL qb, they win.

I think they lose.

You're giving both (crappy) offenses a lot of credit.

Panthers 17

Bears 13

That's true.

Vikings 21

Packers 14

Two of the Vikings touchdowns are scored on special teams. Either way, my money is on the Packers losing.

You should be rooting for the Packers.

I know I'm rooting against them. I want that number one pick, REAL badly. Trade down for someone who is desperate enough for Matt Leinart and hopefully get Reggie Bush...

Unless you're trading down like 1 or 2 spots, that won't work. Baltimore, Arizona, Cleveland and NO could pick Leinart, but a number of the other bad teams - GB, SF, Jets, Houston - will not be picking him. If you're GB and you want Bush, it would just be best to pick him right at #1, or else you're running a strong risk of losing him.

Either way, there's a lot of competition for that #1 pick, so GB really has to tank it the rest of the way to get it. I think if they win another game they have no shot at that pick.

I'm as much of a Bears-head as the next Chicagoan, but I think da Bears are get their arses handed to them on Sunday.

I hate to say it, but it is JMHO.

Houston will be going after Leinhart. They announced this week they plan on releasing Carr after the season.

I highly, highly doubt that. I can't imagine a team coming out in the middle of the season and announcing that they're releasing their starting quarterback once the season is over.

As much as everyone points out the Bears easy schedule as being intrumental in their success, everyone leaves out the Panthers. Statistically speaking, the Panthers have played an even easier schedule than us. Think about that. Of course, no one mentions this as the Panthers were picked by many to go to the superbowl. This will be a real last season test for both teams.

Regardless, this is going to be a tough one for us.

I will try to find the quote. It was from someone in the org...I think

EDIT: He is due an 8 million option if the Texans want to extend his contract after this year-through 2008. It has to be announced by the end of the season if they are going to extend it or not, so the bonus will spread out over 4 years, including this one. Sources with the Texans said that if the Texans remain with the #1 pick, which they currently have, Carr will be gone. The GM said they plan on picking it up. Either way it will be known by the end of the season what they are going to do.

I guess I misread the statement. The Texans did not announce it...yet. "Sources" did. We all know how sources go, so that could be very wrong. I personally could see them dropping Carr. Or they could trade the pick and work on getting Carr some protection, which IMO would help him out a lot.

There is no way I would ever root for the Packers to win. I am fine with them tying up a ton of cap space in a first overall pick.
