YAY!!! GO ASTROS!!!

I don't like playing the Astros, but I respect them. I hope they win. I HATE the Cardinals and nothing would make me happier than to see them punked in 5 games.

freaking astros! i will go crazy if they win this series. im not sure if i can deal with all the losers here who think theyre astros fans.

DAMNIT!

Why are you rooting for the Cards Mizzou?

I really don't know. I dislike the Cards just as much as the Stros, but my gut is telling me to root for the Cards in this series.

You know it is bad when the Cards are actually getting some sympathy from Cubs fans.

Clearly the Cards haven't been getting it done, but when FOX announcers are asking White Sox players how they will match up against the Astros when neither team has clinched a WS berth, it makes you wonder.

That was a horrible to call to say he went around and to throw him out for simply arguing.

he stepped out of the box, went behind the catcher and had an extended argument w/ the ump.

it was a bad call, but edmonds should know better. nobody's going to bend the rules for him.

Showing more patience isn't bending the rules, it was dumb for him to argue in the manner he did. He shouldn't have been thrown given the circumstances of being such a close game and the post-season.

If that final double play was hit to the Cubs 100 consecutive times, how many times do you think they would actually turn it?

better question: if the cubs were in the exact same situation as the cards were in the 9th (runner on 3rd with no out and with one out), how many times do you think they would have hit into that exact same double play?

Actually, I give the Cubs a little less credit. I think they would have hit a line drive 1-hopper to 2b, with the relay throw beating the runner by 9 or 10 steps.

i don't know if i buy into the argument that rules change given the circumstances.

maybe if edmonds would have gotten tossed more during the regular season, he'd have learned his lesson by now. :D

First inning pictures of game 5 was kind of humorous:

Shot of Phil Garner picking his ear with his index finger and then inspecting what he'd found; they lingered on this shot for at least two seconds.

Some idiot in a Sox cap sitting behind home plate waving, grinning and talking on his cell phone -- and they complain about the idiots at Wrigley who do that. . .

Berkman standing at second, stroking his chin and talking with Grudz -- discussing Michael Barrett?

I'd be quite happy if the Astros won and then defeated the Sox. Then, Clemens will have accomplished his goal -- bring WS rings to his hometown -- and then RETIRE!

Tremendous point. He goes out on top and it increases the Cubs' chances to win a playoff spot next season with one of the Murderers' Throw eliminated.

Then we get to see 16 million dollar Andy Pettitte get hurt again!

Fat Elvis can just plain hit.

Just barely into the Crawford boxes. You people can call me pathetic all you want, but the field is just a nightmare!

If your players can't pull a couple of Pettitte pitches into those boxes over the course of 6 innings, you've got little room to talk.

Feel better now?
