Vikings with 6 first downs, 178 yards and 10 points on offense through 3 quarters, that's some Justin Fields lead Bears numbers.  Hell, even in un-play-able conditions, against a better defense, the Bears still managed 17 first downs and nearly 300 yards.

I didn’t watch this game beyond that Bucs TD pass. I don’t know how they put up 23 points with those numbers.  Vikings D is legit though. It can probably carry them to more wins than you’d typically think.

That BAL/DAL game ended almost exactly like when the Bears lost to the Falcons years back. A few seconds left. Long pass completion and quick TO. Clock at zero, one second put back on. And game-winning FG. Dallas loses.

Yes that was brutal.  That should have been offensive PI if anything.  The ref further away was the one who made the call it appeared. Inexcusable

I can see why it was called. There was a lot of contact and the appearance in real time was that it was defensive, but the replays clearly showed that the WR was instigating all of the contact. Why those calls can't be reviewable is stupid. I'm sure the officiating crew loves to be ridiculed for embarrassing calls rather than allowing a replay judge reverse the call.

Seems like its literally every other year (even year syndrome?) the Minnesota Vikings Fraud their way to a 12+ game season. I don't know what kind of horrible Cardinals-level devil magic they use, and each time they get pantsed in the playoffs. 

This may be their most Fraudulent start yet. Hopefully the Bears and the NFC North denies them, because that team offends me. But keep Green Bay in last place please, thank you.

Defense is legitimately good, offense is legitimately bad, I don't believe a defense first team can win big in the modern NFL.  I don't believe we'll see another Ravens like team win the SB.

I agree with you in their start, total BS.  Yesterday they didn't have quite the number of fluky circumstances work out in their favor nevertheless, they did have a punt return TD to go along with a pathetic display on offense.

I believe a defense team can and will win in the NFL. The issue with defense first teams is they cannot last. Good defenses require young healthy studs all over the field. Defense age out, get expensive and/or hurt too easily. But in any one season you can ride that wave.

There's also a huge change in what constitutes a "good" defense and what is the bare minimum for an offense for a team to be successful. In 2000, you could construct a defense good enough that you could expect to hold a team to 14 or fewer points. That is simply not possible today. They have changed the rules and offenses are so much better at moving the ball that you cannot do that. You have to be able to put up at least 20 points to expect to win games. 

It'd be like trying to win in the NBA when you can only expect to put up 75 points a night. There's a bare minimum of offensive success necessary to be a "defensive" team.

Wow, Vikings have faith in their defense, Murray and Wentz aren't significant steps up from McCarthy.  Plus, as much as he screwed up, you could still see flashes of a good QB from McCarthy.

They aren’t huge steps up but they have a baseline. This looks like the opposite of how the Bears handled Mitch when Nagy came on board and realized Trubisky was a moron that wouldn’t be able to run a quality NFL offense. They stuck with him anyway instead of cutting bait. 
They sort of fixed Darnold and moved on for McCarthy but immediately regretted it. If they can keep this team competitive with two castoff QBs (so far so good) he may get the rare second chance to find a franchise QB.
