I'm curious to see if they shuffled the rotation with the off day

Guys are veterans so if they prefer 4 days or 6 days of rest that's their prerogative, but presumably the WC round starters are going to go W/T/F, and whoever's opening the DS is going Sunday (and tonight?).

I just heard Shota is going today. So the shuffling has begun. Setting up Gausman and Holmes for game 1 and 2. I think they stay in like order now. And use Shota on Sunday if they need the game. If not, Assad and whatever pen will not be on the first round playoff roster. Maybe, if they like Peterson more than Boyd they flip them too. But whoever goes Friday and Saturday can pitch Thursday next week, anyway.

I think they will move the games to a dome stadium if they have to. Those games have to be played. I doubt weather blows up the Cubs playoff pitching plans.

Cubs could really benefit with a sweep this series,  with the Padres playing the Dodgers and Phillies playing the Brewers.

Cubs always benefit if they sweep. I would be fine just winning both series. If they do that SD has to go 5-1 to beat them and Phillies have to go 6-0. It would also be nice if Az won some games and stayed interested in that last series.

Yea, but it would be cubs like for them to get swept by the Redsox, then to win 2 of 3.

Would it though? I mean, why? Cubs have been good pretty much all year while people keep expecting the other shoe to drop. Why is it more likely they get swept in Boston then win that series? Boston isn’t even good at home. I mean, aside from being negative just to be negative, or suggesting it basically as “what else can go wrong?”, I don’t think them being swept as a likely outcome. Of course Bregman having his face broken while waiting to bat wasn’t likely either. So in that way of thinking, anything is possible😬

Yea, no Bregman and their better SP are going against Miami.

Imanaga, Gausman,  and Holmes 

Boston would be in no particular order, Boyd, ?, and maybe Peterson who could save them but with the rain who knows.

I would just be more at ease to just sweep Miami and hope they just need to win 1 against Boston.

Absolutely agree. I would feel much better with a sweep. However, I just saw tbd for Thursday’s starter. Then Holmes, Boyd and Peterson to finish. 
So is there really a big difference in starters for the Cubs. Is Imanaga, Gausman and either Assad/Rea/Civale really better than Holmes, Boyd and Peterson. Plus, Boston doesn’t have anything to play for. No reason the Cubs should be swept. Regardless, I would be happy with 4-2 however they fit it. That would make them 10-5 the last 15. If SD or the Phillies catching them while they go 10-5, then they deserve the first WC.

If I recall, Kyle Schwarber was doing as much work in the cage as well other adjacent activities to be ready for the possibility of breaking into that WS roster.  I imagine that 10 years later, Bregs will also be tapping into the Cubs tech to make the same case.

I would assume this based solely on him being a bit of a psycho (complimentary) when it comes to being a competitor. I think that is something a lot of the guys on this team have in common (PCA, Steele, Bregman, Dansby, Nico)
