Should be an interesting matchup as both teams are similar to each other. The Braves pitch better than the Cubs and the Cubs hit better than the Braves, but both are definitely slanted towards being offensive teams who have to out-hit. their pitching. Obviously the Braves have Sale, but beyond him, Lopez and Perez should be very "gettable". Bullpen wise, they can close games out well (Lee, Fuentes and Iglesias) but they are pretty mortal if you can take a lead and miss that trio. 

I'm not a "must win" a series kind of guy, but this feels like the kind of series you want to see the Cubs take two out of from an aesthetic standpoint.

He appears vulnerable to me, not the shut down guy he's been in the past.

I’m also not a “must win series” kind of guy either, in the sense that it has anything to do with setting a tone in the event the Cubs meet them again. I only care how they do because they need more wins to make the playoffs. I don’t think them winning all 3 games gives them any sort of advantage if they play the Braves again. But it certainly helps securing home field in the WC round.

He's not the dominant pitcher he was five years ago, but he's 99th percentile chase, 81st percentile whiff, 70th percentile xERA. You aren't going to score a lot off of him, and it's not really a winning proposition.

My feelings around the 2026 Cubs revolve around whether or not they can hit 90 wins. If they can, I'll feel ok about this very weird VERY up and down season. if they can't, I'll consider it a mildly weird disappointing season if they don't go on a shockingly fun and long postseason run.
