I agree he doesn’t have the strongest leg. But the penalties he got on kick offs were because he didn’t get it far enough and close enough to the goal line. I don’t think that was because to leg stretch. He can definitely kick the ball to the goal line. He just didn’t figure out exactly how hard he had to kick it to get it in the proper landing area. He does have to get better at that, but he has enough leg to get the ball to where it needs to be.

I know Santos does not have the biggest leg, but is his issue with the penalties just that he is trying to do different dirty kickoffs, not that he can't kick it far enough?  I know he talked about adding dirty kickoffs last year and watching other kickers and incorporating different strategies.  I am always behind when watching the games  so I usually fast forward through the kickoffs.  So I didn't notice what exactly happened on those kicks.

They were trying to be cute and didn't execute.  Just kick it to the 1 yard line and let your guys go make a tackle if you can't execute the dirty kickoff consistently.  It's not worth the extra 10-15 yards of field position with a defense this bad.

The WR blocking stuck out to me as well. Caleb's first TD scramble was helped out by Odunze sealing his guy in the end zone. Burden and Walker were making huge blocks as well.

Interesting stat of the game: Roschon Johnson is currently ranked fifth on the team in total tackles, with four ST tackles yesterday.

I’d like to see what Taylor can do on kickoffs. It’s not a pressing issue but field position is a premium for this defense.

The other half have no family ties to Wisconsin and just bandwagoned during the 90’s, and get a pass for it unlike Cowboy fans who are crucified for doing the same thing.

Taylor has too much leg to kick off. Cairo actually normally does pretty good with kickoffs in the landing zone, IMO. In fact, I think Cairo's weenie leg is designed for hitting the landing zone with regularity. Kick offs into the end zone for touch backs are not good for field position. Maybe Cairo was working on hitting the landing zone shorter and hoping for bad hops to create a quicker attack to the ball carrier.

What if I told you Rome, Luther and Colston combined for 7 catches and zero td's in a game the Bears scored 59 points. Lots of weird anomalies like that in this game. 

So I watched the Vikings game. It doesn't appear as though Kyler will be back in time for Sunday's game. That was a brutal concussion. Those typically mean possibly missing 2-4 games. Wentz looked like a backup until the 4th quarter, but even he was holding his back and wincing on plays after some tackles.

You quoted the wrong post, but I get what you are saying. For the record, whatever the experiment Cairo was going for there needs to be refined or scrapped, because giving the other team the ball at the 40 is BS. Especially since Jahdae and Roschon are ready to put a stomping on whoever is running with the ball.
