I would assume that the thinking is Assad will be back in 2 weeks when the rosters expand.  So no need to launch a guy you can’t get back. 

Eh. We’re fighting to win the division and get a bye and we’re 4 weeks back. Having a worse pitcher on the roster that has no future with the team for 2 weeks isn’t really helpful in closing the gap.

I’m not so sure we’re watching the same cubs offense from a week ago. This offense is capable of going from 60 to 0 in a micro second.
