Not saying this will happen, in fact, since I'm saying it, I've probably jinxed it nevertheless, Jason correct me if I'm wrong.  But isn't Cabrera exactly the type of pitcher who's stuff wouldn't seem to translate to such a poor regular season.  Yet, somehow, finds it in the post season and dominates?  Didn't we see a similar type of situation with Pfaadt and the Diamondbacks in 2023?  It's why I'm not ready to write Cabrera off, the potential to dominate is there, something Imanaga or Boyd don't have and never will.

Yeah, I think there's a good chance that could happen. When you have stuff for days, any time you could really "click" and everything is ready to go. You can also outpitch your command in short bursts.

Cabrera was disappointing yesterday for sure. The blister is annoying, that he tried to tough it out is both admirable and stupid, and we're still sitting here trying to figure him out. I wouldn't be excited or clamoring for an Edward Cabrera playoff start today.

But a month from now? Maybe a different tune. Or at the least I can see an interesting playoff bullpen option.

Not a great day to take my now 10-year-old to the park for his first game ever. I knew we were in trouble from the moment I saw they were shoving Cabrera back out there. Right now it feels like he was a waste of Owen Caissie's trade value.
