Just saw the Whitesox had to remove their starter in the first because appearantly the manager forgot the pitching coach went out for a mound visit earlier in inning and he came out to talk to pitcher

Cubs now closer to the 1 seed than the 5 seed, 4.5 games behind the Brewers and 6 games ahead of Philly and Arizona.

Also just 1.5 games behind the Dodgers and 2.5 behind the Braves.

exactly, let's forget his propensity this season to be great one game and terrible the next and this was the terrible one in that rotation, I thought he'd have had his gym shoes on last night given he'd pitched the previous two.   I said it as soon as I saw him in the pen so no hindsight here, and I'm still scratching my head.  Made the win much harder than it needed to be.

On paper the Twins have a winnable game tonight against Mil ( Gasser ). Hopefully they can pick up another game tonight . The problem is that they will probably need a sweep in KC because Miz is pitching tomorrow

I happened to have the game on. It was really weird, the umpires at first said because Venable came out the pitcher had to face one more batter then be removed and Stephen Vogt then came out and was basically "uh that's not the rule fellas" and the umps talked it over and then made him leave immediately
