Detmers not going anywhere would be kinda wild right? Which opens up the possibility that the medicals were shaky, which would make me reassess the events of the day.

They got 2 guys as good or better than Boyd and a RP with upside as high or higher than anyone in their pen. I mean which starter, other than Skubal, was clearly better than either of Gausman/Holmes?

for rojas+ I expected someone with at least one more year of control after this. it's fine though

Yeah, you'd think the Braves would be in on him. They have Sale and a bunch of mid.

20 minutes to go, but are the Orioles really not going to trade Rogers after selling off so much else? Outside of Rutschman he was probably their most valuable piece.

I think the medicals could be an issue.

I've been thinking about it logically, but pulling out of a trade because of Owen Ayers doesn't make sense. It wasn't like that name was new. I heard that name yesterday morning from some people who would know (not Matt) and more today. Matt wrote about it yesterday morning. Matt wrote about it today. Jed doesn't come off as the guy who last second gets emotional about a player and then straight up pulls out.

So what would cause a last-second pull out?

Surely the Tigers trade Mize and the Orioles trade Rogers, right?

Surely the Braves make a move to their rotation other than Mahle right? Seems like they'll get Mize at the buzzer.

Degrom invoked his no trade clause today ending Rangers conversations with Braves, Brewers and Cubs.

Victor Vodnik dealt to the Marlins. There's an arm I would have liked to gamble on, more in the offseason than now, but he's pretty electric.

So, one would think that Mize has to be hurt and that's why he wasn't traded and i frankly have no idea why Baltimore didn't trade Rogers.

He just got traded the last minute. Padres.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this Mize trade doesn't net the Tigers much given his velocity after his last start.
