It would certainly help. But a good reminder: both have been pretty terrible lately and the Cubs have managed to win 10 of 14 games and have gone toe-to-toe with Milwaukee this weekend through their three best SPs. They're competing with a playoff team right now without them. 

The best version of the Cubs has both of them hitting well. But even with them being not good, the Cubs are still in there.

Wilson has been good. Wicks is here to eat innings but if Wilson is eating innings, then you don't need Wicks to as well.

That's true.  They have been playing well.

If and when Hoerner finds himself again, that's a very intriguing 1-2-3-4 at the top.  Hoerner, PCA, Suzuki, Busch.

Ugh. That's just how today has gone so far. Woodruff has 6 whiffs. The Cubs have the 3-6th hardest hit balls in the game with only one hit to show for it and the SS boots it but it bounces right up into his throwing hand.
