A Cubs pitcher? On the IL?

Shocked I say.

The fact that they didn't announce it with the Taillon/Roberts swap might mean he's just in town as essentially a taxi squad guy.  It is Coors Field after all.

But like yeah based on the trends from the first two months of the season "assume everyone is healthy and back into a rationale from there" isn't my default.  And I don't think it can be a simple option Assad/call up Ferguson because it's been less than 15 days since he was optioned to Iowa in the first place.  Ditto DFAing Thornton.

I assumed Ben Brown's leg had just...fallen off. This is both a better outcome and a more logical one.

We’ve been through a lot this year. At this point, there’s no way I could handle a Ben Brown injury. That would be the end

Random question - does Jason McLeod still work in the Cubs org?  I was curious, so I googled it and every article I can find online says that he left the Cubs in 2021.  Yet, his LinkedIn says he still works for the Cubs and the homepage article on NSBB has a recent looking picture of him and Jed on the field.

Crazy to think come mid-June that Ben Brown would be the one SP we all trusted.

He joined Arizona in 2021.

Nico has one more hit this year than Bregman. This is an indictment of Nico, who I love unconditionally like a son. They both need to get going.

I miss the real Nico and hope for his swift return.  I have no idea who is wearing his uniform right now.

I’m looking at the list of teams since 1969 who had more than 1 double digit winning streak.  Most of them finished with over 100 wins.  The Brewers of 1987 were the worst, finishing a mere 20 games above .500

The Cubs are going to make history this year for the wrong reasons.
