I am legitimately interested to see how much fWAR this game adds on to Pete's 2.6 so far. I wouldn't be at all shocked if he's sitting at 2.8 tomorrow.

Likely 3.

Me too. Good chance he’ll be leading all NL position players whenever that updates

You guys realize that if Pete is a 130 hitter hes damn near a 10 war player? We have one of the most valuable players in the league.

Yeah, he'd be a version of Buxton that could play 150 games

Another solo for a 3rd HR allowed. I swear I'm not making this up

Unbelievable, but I believe you.😅

The belief that Boyd / Taillon / and Imanaga are anything but bottom of the rotation filler is delusional, to say the least.  We knew this (or should have known this) going into the season.  Throw Rea in, and we have ourselves the recipe for an underwhelming and incredibly disappointing staff.  We need top-of-the rotation starters in the worst way, and sadly, I see none in the nearly-ready pipeline who can come and contribute.  When Horton went down, my silver lining was hoping that Brown would take the mantle and run.  While he has done that in ways I never imagined, the rest of the staff has lived up to their original billing.  Is it too much to ask for a young ace?  Can we somehow land a lesser-Mis or a lucky nugget like Harrison?  It doesn't seem likely.

Give up the farm to get Skubal and sign him.

As bad as this season has felt, as many injuries as we have had, we are still right there tied for the wild card.  Lots of baseball left.

Not sure if this was mentioned earlier...

Cubs traded for Reliever Antoine Kelly

He was a 2nd rounder with the Brewers in 2019, so some pedigree there. Walks are completely out control though, 19 in 22 innings this year in AAA.

When you look at the numbers we are getting nothing from 2B, SS, and 3B right now.  Nothing.

I expect Nico to bounce back but Bregman and Swanson are both 32 years old, which may or not be a reason for their slumps.

Which website posts war 30 minutes after the game ends? Fangraphs has him at 3.0 too after their AM hour updates.

Honestly I'm not sure.  I took that from a twitter post I saw online.  It looks like a Fangraphs leaderboard (posted at 5pm yesterday), maybe there is some way to view it live?

You honestly think the Cubs are going to shell out 300 plus for Skubal? Hell, I do not think they will pay 220m for Peralta.

Yeah it's a filter you can choose on Fangraphs.  "Live Stats - Full Season"

I think they all will get better. 32 isn’t too old to just be playing poorly right now. I think all 3 will end the year with better numbers than they have now. Might not rebound to career norms, but there is going to be some positive regression coming from all of them.

Yeah, I know Dansby isn’t this bad regardless of age. The degree of positive regression is obviously key.

Right. As I said, they might not get back to career norms, but there is going to be some good extended play coming. All have been this bad for this long in the past. Eventually they will come around. Just hope it isn’t too late.
