The showed at the beginning that Taillon has allowed 85% of his runs via HR. That number is going up so far today.

Yep. 5 HRs accounting for all 8 runs today.

Thursday off day before his next start, they need to be skipping it.

If Mets are really serious about moving guys on June 1st, Jed better be on the phone with them for Peralta

Remember last year?  Jamo had the same HR problem in May and June.  He got hurt.  After he came back from the IL, the problem magically disappeared.  I think he gave up only a few HR's, after he came back in Aug, including the playoffs.  I guess he needs to do the same.

Yeah, Peralta will be nice, but anybody who can help would be good.  Right now, it's just Shota and Ben, who pitched only 8 innings as a SP, and for the rest of the rotation, we have to hope they have a good day.

To make us feel a bit better about Jameson Taillon

5 of his walks were in one inning.

The cost will be astronomical

Why do we have to pretend Taillon did the team a huge favor by pitching...  5 innings?

Be better.

5 innings is about par for the course in modern MLB.  The last time MLB starters averaged 6 innings pitched was about 30 years ago.

Pay it.

Right now I am sure the Mets are asking crazy prices. Maybe even Shaw and Rojas or more. I can’t agree to say “pay it” without knowing what “it” is. Not saying you, specifically, , but the fans suggesting they pay whatever necessary will be the same ones criticizing the FO for getting rid of young talent for 4 months of a pitcher. I would love to get someone now, but I doubt the selling teams would do so without an absolutely ridiculous offer that couldn’t be refused.

When Boyd comes back I think it is a real possibility the Cubs end up releasing Tailon. I think  Rea is a better rotation piece and I also think Brown will prove he belongs in the rotation by then. I don’t see Jamo as a bullpen guy.
And this isn’t even considering adding a pitcher via trade or Steele coming back. I really think if the Cubs get some health on the staff and also trade for a pitcher, Jamo won’t be with the team come August.

I would but Jed would not

Nor should he or any GM. And none would pay a ridiculous price except for MAYBE the Dodgers.
