It was a big wall of a text, I'm sure it was just an accident that you missed the UL Lafayette vs Delaware match up?

TNT:  Good news, we have two college football playoff games again!

Bad news:  They both involve Group of 5 teams.  The point spreads are -17.5 and -21.  And the second half of the first game and all of the second game are going head to head against NFL games.

I was upset at first that A&M kicks off at 11am but then I remembered the Bears-Packers rematch is that night so I’m happy we didn’t get the late game. I’d hate to have them both on at the same time.

All in rooting for Indiana, if for nothing else to show it’s possible for new blood to come all the way from the nether regions of a conference and win it all.

There's now 10 schools have said "nah" to bowl bids

This sport as an enterprise has spent literal decades telling us they don't care about bowls by focusing on how the national title is decided. Teams are starting to act accordingly, just as players did. I have a feeling this bowl season will someday be footnoted similarly to the one where Christian McCaffrey opted out.

Gotta cost a lot of money to send an entire team & staff to a bowl too.

Very glad Illinois is still in the “we’re just happy to be here” part of their trajectory.

I don't get it, don't Bowls mean revenue and more practice time?  From a football' team perspective what's not to like?

Transfer portal departures and arrivals have really limited the utility of those practices. Your starting team at the end of a season is almost never going to look that much like the one that takes the field for spring practice.

I think some of the 5-7 teams may also have already packed up for the season. Coaches and players had other plans. And other such things. Iowa St lost their coach. So I do certainly get it for some schools. Also, as more schools declined some administrators may have felt better about declining than going thru the bowl game hassle. Some of these bowl games are a net loss for schools
