Im so looking forward to attending another Badgers home game!!!  Not.  This one is homecoming so if Fick thought the students were angry at the Maryland loss he’s got no idea.

I don't drink, so I'm not crazy enough to think win.

But could IU somehow not get totally blasted. Is that really to much to hope for?

I just want Illinois to keep it within 14, anything more than that is a victory.

I'd take them scoring a TD and not suffering any injuries.

Yeah, I have a feeling where both going to be disappointed.

You're probably correct, I've low bar, just want a TD from the Illini.  The Hoosiers?  They're in for a big dose of reality.

Yup, I can easily see Oregon winning by 30 or more.

I'm seriously thinking there a greater chance the Illini do not score a TD.

I am so sour on Franklin now that I hope they go full Florida State 2024 and lose out and clean house

Appears he can recruit, they've got some NFL type talent in several places, that's most of the battle in college football.  Just that, last Saturday notwithstanding, has trouble beating other teams with NFL types.

NFL caliber players who he doesn't maximize. Rides guys like Abdul Carter and Saquon Barkley who were going to succeed anyways, vs. fostering players to be better.

It'd be cool to see what Brett Bielema could do with that type of talent.  If Illinois could ever recruit at a higher level we might see a real threat in Champaign.

Franklin's biggest issue has been a lack of difference makers at QB.

That may be correct, Allar has never struck one, looked or played like a difference maker.  Heck, one could argue, a putz. such as Luke Altmyer is better and more of a difference maker than Allar.

His starting QB's have been:

Christian Hackenberg (#1 QB in his class, whoopsy)
Trace McSorely
Sean Clifford
Drew Allar

All four started for multiple seasons an none really got much better as they went along

It's my Illini can't possibly be good at football bias creeping in.

lol, fair enough. I encourage you to let it go and enjoy what Altmyer’s been doing.

Saturday is not going to be pretty, my hope is the Illini manage to score a TD and no one gets hurt.  The big game for them is the following week in Seattle.

Yep. A more accurate statement from me probably would be that he hasn't developed a QB into a difference maker. Either way, that's the biggest differentiator in CFB. College QB is the position that can either make or break your season more than any other.

I think Beilema has a way with 3 star players. He was never a great recruiter at Wisconsin either. Not everyone gets good results out of 5 stars
