I'm more than willing to entertain locking Nico up for awhile longer, but there is certainly more than "zero reason" not to commit to a 2B contract up to age 35 for a guy whose value is made up largely from speed and defense.

I went on the high side thinking hed want more than a 3 or 4 years extension, which would line up with the end of Swanson deal

Keller facing the heart of the order in the 8th is the right decision but I am very nervous to see who Craig will pick to close out the 9th.

You know what? Bring in Brown. The Cubs are pretty much locked into the WC, hopefully the top spot, but whatever. Screw it, give Brown a chance.
