In the last two months, he's one of the best for sure.  He just needs to pitch one or two more innings per game.  Then, he'll be perfect.

He can't hit with RISP but Dansby can still play defense with the best of them.

By design the Cubs are keeping him at 75 or so pitches. He can easily go 7 if they gave him a 90-100 pitch limit. But they aren’t going to do it this year.

He did a really nice job.  Not the most exciting broadcaster voice, but he did a more than adequate job technically.  He called the game well without trying to do too much.  Zach Zaidman could learn a thing or two from him.

Right now, Horton being limited to 75ish pitches is working well. They're going to make the playoffs, keep those high stress innings down for him.

I agree. Yes, his voice wasn’t great. But he did a good job describing the game.

Is there’s a game 3, is Horton your starter or will the limited pitch count still be in effect and it’s Taillons spot? He’s earned it.

Yeah, I know that, but I wish he can pitch 90 or so, which he did in July.  But, for now, we don't want any of our SP to get injured.  So, it's fine.

Starters are pretty much limited to 5 or maybe 6 innings in the playoffs anyway. The playoffs are always super bullpen heavy.

I think once the Cubs are securely slotted at 1st WC team Horton will pitch even less. Maybe keep him in his schedule but only thrown 2 or 3 innings. They. Wed him for the playoffs.
