The Cubs could get Mackenzie Gore and I still feel a bit sick to my stomach at how much better so many other teams have gotten.  Obviously the Cubs have no control over that, but wow, kudos to the Mets, Padres and Astros for the moves they've made.  They want it more

I'm giving Jed the benefit of the doubt.  He's pulled enough rabbits out of his hat that nobody saw coming that it wouldn't surprise me if he's got something completely off the radar cooking that will do the trick.

Edit: I'll definitely be pissed if there's not a decent starter added before 5:00.

Good call. Was going to comment on how the Astros A. were in the American League, so who cares, and B. had acquired a 1.1 fWAR SS and a 1.1 fWAR outfielder.

With the way things are going, I'll just assume they'll get a stud big leaguer back for Cease.  Probably someone they can slide into their lineup immediately and rake lol.
