Boyd with an ace performance . Good stuff . Imanaga has been underwhelming this year . Hopefully he can find the 24 version tomorrow . They really need it . Warren is the definition of volatile .

When it goes south for him , it’s usually in the 1st inning . Keep an eye on that . Would be huge for them if they can win this series heading g into the break .

Palencia is so fun to watch. lol

Absolutely. I have heaped praise on Boyd, but Palencia is right there with him. Where would we be without those two? JUst fantastic performances from them today. Hats off.

Why do teams still pitch to him?

I have no problem pitching to him, bottom of the 9th, 1 out, up, 5-0, for the Cubs that was a completely meaningless HR.  It's the kind of HR you're OK with, doesn't matter you won.

Yeah Keller is fighting it right now . Hopefully he gets it out of the system during the break .

He threw an awesome slider Judge didn't even come remotely close to, don't know why he didn't throw another.

I’m talking in general. He’s the best hitter since roided Bonds and has mediocre protection.

Looking back, that Chafin trade was a huge W for Jed.

Fly the W but the bullpen has been terrible lately.

I have a hard time with the statement “the bullpen has been terrible lately”. The main pen arms, aside from Keller, have been really good. Hodge was clearly not healthy when he pitched. And I am not sure he is in the circle of trust anyway. Brasier, Pressley, Theilbar, Pomoranz, Palencia and Flexen have all still been very good coming in from the pen. I am worried about Keller, but that is about it.

Dodgers have lost 7 straight, at some point they're going to get right. They play the Brewers out of the break.  Bold prediction: the Brewers will lose one of those games.

It’s a 3 run lead now.

you wanted to pitch around judge in the 9th inning when he wasn't the tying run?

I was focused on the bullpen that has been pitching. In the last 12 and 1/3 innings, they have given up 16 runs.

Good post and points 25. He could just be fatigued. He's thrown quite a few innings the last 3 months and time off will do him good. Doubt he'll be used tomorrow so he'll have the next 5 days off which should really help.

You think?😄👍

Forgive me for being captain obvious. I missed my afternoon nap for the game. 😄

I’m sure if there is a Chafin trade thread still in existence there were people complaining that we didn’t receive enough in return. 🤣

Watched the MLB broadcast of the Yankees on YES, the announcers where assuming a DP on Swanson.  Looked to me as if he had Chisholm' throw, accurate or not, beat by one, two steps.  Did it appear that way to anyone else, just curious?

I think PCA has seen about 6 pitches in 4 AB’s

I think when he faces lefties, hes up there swinging and hoping it's a ball over the plate .lol

Honestly, horsefeathers Judge, he can hit all the HR's he wants while losing to the Cubs, I'll take it.

if jordan wicks is throwing meaningful relief innings down the stretch, the cubs won’t have a postseason to worry about anyway if that makes you feel any better.

I think he beat the throw too. It should have been an easy DP, but the throw to second sucked and that hurt thr timing of the play.

I love seeing our guys at the ASG but PCA needs a mental break at the plate.

In GENERAL is the gist of my comment.

A HR in that situation kills the rally. Despite another runner reaching base, the Cubs got a clean slate. There is a time and place to walk Judge but B9 and his team is trailing 0-5 is not one of those times. No free runners in the situation.

I may be wrong but I think that was mostly and including yesterday bullpen garbage game, but mostly the go get them just eat innings pen guys in the games that were getting away and not the guys they count on mostly.

And who have those guys been? Wicks, Keller? Are you counting Flexen when he started. Focus on the guys that matter. They have been good. As I said, of the guys in the circle of trust, Keller is the only one really struggling.
