Cubs have to be due to beat a left handed starter and take a 3 game set from a playoff caliber team are they not? If the twins scrub right handers held the Cubs to 3 runs you’d think the randomness element would be on our side.

I’m giving this optimism thing a shot.

Don’t see either team sweeping. Cubs will either take 2 out of 3 or lose 2 out of 3.  Yankees won a game last night that they shouldn’t have, so hopefully they are due for a let down tonight

The Yankees not having a bullpen of doom is low key one of the most shocking things league wide this year.  Like they've been as consistent as the Brewers about it over the last 10ish years

We can't keep going with a bullpen game every 5th day. Yes, I get that most deals are done in the final days before the deadline, but even with the ASB, this seems suboptimal

Maybe they're gonna keep lengthening Flexen?

I am not one to suggest Cubs can’t win here. But pitching match ups are not favorable. Cubs get Rodon and Fried and are going bullpen day today. Tomorrow we get Boyd, but again, that is against Fried. Sunday looks ok, but Imanaga was hit hard last turn out. If we are looking at this from an unbiased view I would think most would feel the Yankees have the edge. Doesn’t mean the Cubs cannot beat them. They absolutely can.

They might have Max Fried, but we have Drew Pomeranz.

This is certainly a lineup:

May be an image of 2 people and text that says 'STARTING LINEUP July 11, 2025 6:05 PM | Yankee Stadium UBS ដាសរីនីាខន 4 4 FARMSIRO STRO 20 2B RF LF AT NY 1 Nico Hoerner 2 Kyle Tucker 3 Seiya Suzuki 4 Carson Kelly c 5 Pete Crow-Armstrong CF 6 Dansby Swanson SS 7 Justin Turner Michael Busch Jon Berti PC 8 DH 9 1B razr 3B Chris Flexen P Watch: Marquee Sports Network Listen: 670 The Score'

Well the Happ and Shaw haters have to like it. He did finally take them out of the line up.

Not having Busch in there is criminal, even against a lefty

you missed him because he's inexplicably batting 8th

wRC against LHP

  1. 159 Nico
  2. 143 Tuck
  3. 164 Seiya
  4. 110 Kelly
  5. 72 PCA
  6. 131 Dansby
  7. 109 Turner
  8. 91 Busch
  9. 19 Berti

PCA is too high but probably didn't want PCA and Busch back to back with only really Happ (who has struggled against LHP this year) as a PH option.

Wonder if Shaw takes the entire Yankees series off, then gets ASB as well, to reset and work on another mechanical thing.

Maybe, he appeared PO and frustrated after striking out on 2 hanging sliders yesterday.  He knows full well he should have least made hard contact on those pitches.  Might not be the worst thing in the world to not face Rodon and Fried when you're in a bad slump.

Don't hate them, as a fan im rooting hard for them to do well, but damn you cant just sit here and say they'll be fine after a month plus of not being fine.

I love Happ...he's a great guy but he's really been struggling. Needed a day off for sure. Shaw just can't figure it out and I hope we trade for a 3rd baseman cuz he just hasn't gotten it done.
