Contreras had some very positive comments after the game. Said he was not trying to hit me and he apologized for his reaction.

Will always love Willson

Ole Willy has turned into quite the little bitch. Too bad, really liked when he was a Cub.

He tries to act like he's all that and a bag O' chips. Dude is mediocre and I'm glad he's he's the Cards problem now.

Feeling much better now.  Couple shutouts is exactly what we needed.

I posted a couple days ago that LHP was the recipe to beating the Cards lineup. Turns out i was right for once. Very glad to see Shota back.

I watched the game on super delay and I don't do that much. Restarted in the 7th and the cards threatened a couple times, most notably the bottom 9. Was terrified bc there was so much timein the recording, I thought we had gone to extras. HUGE sigh of relief when Palencia shut the door. Good series result!

Actually he has always been a little bitch. But before he was our bitch so we loved him. Now he is an Cardinal so we hate that attitude. I like Willson, but I am also glad we don’t have him any longer.

They did. But they also worked around some weird Jon Lester stuff there with David Ross. I think the Cubs would have preferred not to have 3 C's, one of whom was only there to play when one pitcher threw. But it's the price you pay for Jon Lester.

Reese McGuire doesn't have the same caveat and would, probably, just sit there. He's had a cool little run, but it's probably in the best interest of the Cubs to let it be that; a cool little unexpected run.

In addition to that Contreras was versatile too and could play left field and had the bat to justify carrying 3 catchers.

I'm surprised the Cubs scored only three runs, this Cardinals' staff is tailor made for them to crush.  Unless they make some changes I really don't see the Cardinals faring much better in the remaining season series.

Watched the condensed game yeah, they should have scored a lot more runs.  Bowling league Burleson had the defensive series of his life.  My guess, is sporting a lifetime negative defensive war, we won't see a repeat performance against the Cubs.  But, man, it's annoying, like seeing Castellanos pull those catches out his ass last series in Wrigley.

Not wrong.

I've just never really forgiven him for the Ryan Theriot esque comments he made about the Cubs when he signed with the Cards.

He is who he is. He speaks and acts before he thinks sometimes. But he did retract those comments too. I have been told by me reason ticket rep he is a very nice humble guy. So I choose to believe that and just think he runs hot and that sometimes gets him in trouble.
