PCA is ridiculous in the field.

“In the field” is right. He played left field on that catch.

….. and then he dongs. Wow.

No more Swanson batting 5th, please.

It's time to just camp him in the 8 hole.  Let him hit his occasional home runs at the bottom of the order, but he shouldn't be anywhere near the middle of the lineup.

PCA is coming in to pitch the 9th and close out the game

Post of the day. I laughed.

I wish Ohtani didn’t exist in the NL because I can’t see him not getting the MVP this year. PCA is playing an MVP calibre year.

And, WTF!

The formula would probably be

-PCA goes 40-40 or really close
-Ohtani struggles a bit on the mound
-Ohtani doesn't hit 60 dongs or close to it.

He's not stealing as many bases as last year so if Ohtani "only" ends up with like 47 dongs and 30 SB's, it could be seen as a step back. PCA being absurd in the field while having a monster year at the plate is a poor man's version of Ohtani being an All-Star pitcher and hitter.

They're basically tied in both versions of WAR at the moment so it's a dead heat. But if Ohtani is his old self on the mound, it's probably a wrap.

I'm likely wrong, but I have a feeling that provided Pete keeps this up through the year, that even though on paper Ohtani is likely going to be the better player this might be one of those years where people look at it as whether or not he's more valuable than Pete Crow-Armstrong to his team. I think without Ohtani the Dodgers are still favored to win the pennant, but without Pete Crow-Armstrong I think the Cubs struggle to make the playoffs. And I feel like a lot of writers are going to acknowledge that and give PCA the edge over Ohtani. Those years have happened in the past, and I feel like it's always when the player who beats out the guy who probably deserved it more was on a team that overcame a lot of odds largely in part because of their performance when the other guy was on a stacked roster and just happened to be the best player. This feels like one of those years with PCA.

This division is tough. Brewers, Reds and Cards all 6.5 - 7 games back - but all 3+ games over .500.

6.5 game lead in tbe division.  If they can hold onto this through the stretch of division games over the next few weeks you can really start feeling comfortable operating with an eye towards October.

We have just flat out been winning series versus divisions foes.

Catching up on replays now and for some reason on the Seiya HR had big flashbacks to the Aramis walkoff against the Brewers 20(?) years ago. Same spot of the field, similar follow through, same opponent. Anyone else see it?
